Do you girls have ring insurance? How did you go about getting it? I am having some trouble with this 'i thought' easy task?

Re: Ring Insurance
We took the appraisal from my ring to AllState and had it put on our renter's insurance. Make sure it's listed independently on the insurance policy. You can easily add it to renter's or homeowner's.
Good luck!

Re: Ring Insurance
I have Allstate too. I just faxed them the appraisal that FH got when he bought the ring. They added it to my homeowner's insurance.

Re: Ring Insurance
I contacted Jeweler's Mutual initially and then got a quote from Geico (I have renters and car insurance through them). Geico's quote was better so I went with them. I basically added a policy or rider just for my ring and earrings.
Some people get a better quote with Jeweler's Mutual and some just go with them b/c they don't have home/renters insurance.

Re: Ring Insurance
Mine is an addition to my renter's policy. Since I just bought a home, now I must add it to my homeowners. My policy covers theft, loss, mysterious disapearance (stone falls out).

Re: Ring Insurance
My e-ring came from Blue Nile, so it came with a third-party appraisal. We got the policy through Jewelers' mutual. We just emailed them a scanned copy of the appraisal.
If you don't have an appraisal, the first step is to get one. Then just call up Jewelers' Mutual (or any of the other companies) and they'll walk you through it. Jewelers' Mutual insurance can also be done over the internet, I believe.

Re: Ring Insurance
I have mine through GEICO, which is where I get my renters and car insurance from. It was an add on to my renters policy and just needed to know the appraised value.
