My friend at work just got engaged and her fiance put her ring under his car insurance policy. Anyone do this? I thought it had to go under home owners. I really should have it covered. Ooops.

I have Geico car insurance and renter's insurance. After we got the ring appraised by an independent appraiser, I called Geico and I added a separate policy (rider?) to cover my ering and my studs (which we also had appraised).

mine is on a sep. policy through jewelers mutual. It was cheaper for us to do it that way.

My Engagement rign is through jewelers mutual, seperate policy. Now we just have to pick up and pay for our wedding rings, but need to get them apprased first before we insure them as well.

Allstate doesnt do separate jewelery insurance.
and I didnt do it as a rider to my homeowners because if I lose my ering, i didnt want it to effect my h/o rates - so i have a seperate policy.
