Ring Insurance

Ring Insurance

I had my ring insurance under my mom's renter's insurance. She switched companies and now the new company doesn't insure jewelry. FH's parents' company is the same. I found Perfect Circle insurance online and it would only be $144 a year for insurance for both of my rings. I checked BBB and they are accredited.

Does anybody else have this issue or experience with this company?

I have them and they are great. My friend is an insurance agent and I could have gone with them, she compared the policy to theirs and it was exactly the same for less money. Ive known her for 40 years so I trust her 100% to steer me in the right direction.

That's who my ring is insured through. They cover it for everything, and only do jewelry so they know what they're doing and know the value of it.

Home owners insurance covers it.

Perfect! I love all the good reviews!!

Sweatingforthewedding - not all homeowners insurance companies cover it, Geico does but we don't have them anymore =/

Did you have to get it appraised and show that to them or how does it work with the Perfect Circle company?

It does have to be appraised to be insured. So you have the ring appraised or if you already have it, even better. Then you either fax or e-mail (not sure which or maybe both are an option.. FH did it, not me) the paperwork as proof of the value. They do free quotes based on appraisal value on their website.

We are going through state farm for our rings. My fiances grandmother works for state farm and she provides insurance after the appraisal. Let me know if you need her number! :)

Where did you all go to get the rings appraised?

My ring was appraised when FH bought it from the jeweler. If you go back to the place you originally got your ring from, they should appraise it either free or discounted since they should have done it when it was bought. If it's an heirloom ring or something like that, you can go to any jewelry store and have a gemologist appraise it for a fee (I think most charge like $100 or so). Mine was from Sammy's at the Commack Jewelry Exchange so that's where the appraisal was done.
