Ring insurance- Hellpppp

Ok so this morning I really F*cked up my engagement ring. I cried to FH about it all morning b/c I was so upset. Jimmy brought it to a jeweler to get repaired and they mentioned insurance and FH lied and said yes we had it but just figured I'd get it fixed faster than going through insurance.

Who did you girls use for insurance? How does this all work?? I just want to get it ASAP so god forbid something else happens, i'm covered

oh I'm so sorry! I'm sure it will be ok! I have mine insured as an addition to my renter's insurance policy, which is through Liberty Mutual. You will need a copy of the Appraisal of the ring with the name and address of whoever owns the insurance policy on it. good luck and don't be too upset! it will get fixed!

Get it insured ASAP! I got my insurance the day after we were engaged. If you own a home, you can get it added on to your home owners insurance. I went through Jewler's Mutual because I don't own our place, and it was hard for me to get a stand alone policy through Chubb or any other insurance company.

I did it thru my parent's homeowners insurance thru allstate. If is approximately $30 for every $1000 your ring is appraised for. SOOOO WORTH IT!! Get it insured!!

Sorry about your ring but get it insured ASAP! FH got it insured before he even gave it to me.

If you own a home, or have renters insurance you can get it through there. You can even take a policy on it alone through almost any insurance company. There is also a Jewerly Insurance company that you do it all online -- I will get the name for you. My friend is a broker and that is how she did her ring -- she didn't want people at work knowing what it was worth so she did it seperate from her company.

Ok thanks girls!!...I'm going to look into these tonight.
I was putting something away in my hallway closet this morning while i was talking to FH and the door SLAMMED on my finger. It slammed so hard it bent my band upwards and actually pushed one of the baguettes out of the setting (it was found). I started screaming crying, FH was a little pissed but new it wasnt on purpose, obviously. The jeweler even said by the looks of the ring (which is not cheap) that it saved my finger. It was slammed hard like it would have broken my finger. I feel so lost without it!!

FH did it through his homeowner's insurance...

It's under our homeowners policy. Do you and your FH own or rent a home? If you do you can insure your ring under valuable articles / jewelry in your homeowners or renters insurance policy.

You should get it insured right away. We went to the Jewelry Judge in Garden City. He appraised the ring, wrote up the full description of my ring with a picture and all , then he gives you an insurance copy and a copy for yourself and all the paperwork you need to insure the ring with one of the nations leading jewelry insurance companies. The insurance is less thant $150 for the year but based on the weight of your diamond. The appraisal I believe started at $98 up to 1 karat and then went up in small increments. Its worth it though. My diamond is certified and he actually rated my diamond better then the certification so FH got a great deal and the ring is worth more then what he paid. Accidents like these can make our hearts stop.
