ring issue

I love my ring but I find that is sooooo hard to clean!!!! It is a pave band so the dirt gets lodged in there! It endes up looking tarnished by the end of the day! So last night I told my FH that I want a new setting. Is that rude? He said that he didn't care. I even picked out rings I like better that would seem to be easier to clean. Does anyone know of the best ways to clean a ring? It's a platinum pave band.

I just bought mine in to the jeweler... Well my fh did and they took all the stones out and cleaned it.. It was pricey but well worth it.. my ring looks awesome.. it looks bigger and sparkles more. Bring it to ur jewler if you dont want to do that and just have them steam it.

I just use jewelry cleaner every day and then once in a while I bring it to get it steamed - mine is a high polished band its set very high and is open underneath so its very easy to clean

I wear my ring everywhere (including the shower) so it stays fairly clean. My setting is not easy to clean either, but I also dip it in jewlrey cleaner once a month.

I agree that steam is a great way! I also use jewelry cleaner with a little brush that helps get the dirt out of the crevices.

I use a toothbrush and toothpaste. Lame but it works if I am in a hurry.

OMG I now know what to do with the Krups coffee maker we got for our e-party!!! (FH and I dont drink coffeee)!!

i have a pave platnum setting as well, i just drop it in jewelry cleaning solvent every now and then and then scrub it with the little brush it comes with... honestly, if i could change it too i would, but FH would freak...

My setting tends to also get dirt trapped in too. I'm going to take it to the jewerly store and have them clean it for me. It's not even expensive to clean. My fiance picked my ring and did a lot of research. He worked hard and put a lot of thought into it. I love it and would never change it. That's just me. It depends on your fiance and how you got your ring. Hope you find your ideal setting!!!

My setting has TONS of little crevices for dirt, but I love it so much and wouldn't change it for the world. I went to Walmart, and bought a little jar of jewelry cleaner (it's no more than $2.50). Every morning when I'm in the shower, I leave my ring in the jewelry cleaner - give it a quick brush when I get out, and it's good as new.

ALthough it's a little bit of a pain, I would never change my setting, I love it too much!
