Re: ring questions

IMO - let your fiance get what he wants. Remember that he is going to wear this for the rest of his life, so he ought to at least like it. When your engaged etiquette says to wear your egagement ring. After your married you wear both bands together with the wedding band first followed by your engagement ring. I think the story goes that your wedding band goes on first to be closest to your heart. As for your wedding band, again I say pick what you like if it matches or not. Your the one wearing it forever, so you should like it!!!

Re: ring questions

i personally like the look of wearing both the engagment ring and wedding band. if you can agree on two toned rings then you can match eachother and your engagment ring

They are your rings...pick and wear what YOU like...

FH should be allowed to get whatever ring he likes...regardless if they match or not...

But, that's just my opinion...

Re: ring questions

I think each of you should get the ring you like. You wouldn't want him to tell you that you should get a certain style you don't like. How often will people be looking at your hands together?

Re: ring questions

I agree with the above advice. Your wedding bands don't need to match. If your FI wants titanium, let him get it otherwise he may stop wearing his band after a couple of years (I know a couple of men at work who did this). A friend of mine has a gold wedding band and an engagement ring that's both yellow gold and white gold and they look nice together. I wear both rings together. They're both platinum but the cut of the diamonds are different because I didn't like the look of the matching wedding band on my finger. Go with what you like!

Dale's ring is titanium. It does have a bit of yellow gold. We got it at Zale's.

Re: ring questions

My SIL bought 2 rings when she got married. One matches her e-ring the other matches my brothers ring. When she doesnt want to worry about her e-ring (doing yard work, at the beach) she only wears the one that matches her husbands. Thats always and option.

Re: ring questions

Our rings do not match.
If YOU wanted them to match, they do have titanium bands w/ gold in them. Just an option???

I agree w/ the other girls though, get what you like, it's your wedding band forever

Re: ring questions

Since the only time you'll see my FH ring and mine together will probably be the wedding, we decided to get rings we like, even if they don't match.

FH likes the titanium a lot. I like the look on him too. He can't find what he wants in stores. So he may have to buy online. *fear*

Mine is a much simpler design because my engagemment ring is tall with a marquise center, the wedding band has to have a very low profile.

I plan to wear both of mine.

Re: ring questions

I, personally, wanted my wedding band to match my e-ring. I didn't really care about my rings matching JT's. He really fell in love with a Titanium ring, and it was the ONLY one that he liked, so I told him to get it. As long as we both love the rings we ahve then it doesn't matter if they match.

Re: ring questions

Ditto to what other girls are saying about matching.

Re: Titanium. We chose not to get titanium b/c it cannot be surgically cut. But you can get polished platinum, so that its matte and not shiny, which is what DH got.

Re: ring questions

Fh is looking at titanium for his ring because it totally suits his personality.
and my wedding band has already been purchased - we got it when we got my e-ring (yes i helped pick it out!!) and it matches it perfectly. but it isn't made of titanium, so they won't match!!
