We had a great day yesterday! I got my ring appraised. Did anyone else do this? How much did it cost? It though it was very expensive. I got both of my rings sized. And I bought FH's ring. A jewelry store in the mall is closing so I got an amazing deal.

I got my e-ring appraised so I would have it covered under our insurance. I might do the same thing with the wedding bands when we go looking. We still have plenty of time for that though

Congrats! I didnt have to get mine appraised for the insurance - if it is under $10,000 Geico doesnt require an appraisal!

I had my e-ring appraised in order to get it insured, the appraisal was $150 and the insurance through Jewelers Mutual was about $160 for the year. Hope this helps!

I haven't gotten an independent appraisal yet, but the store FH bought it at did a detailed appraisal and report which sufficed for insurance. I'm kicking myself I didn't do jewelers mutual, and had my father put it on his home owners instead, because it ended up being 100 bucks more! I was nervous because I hadn't heard of them before, so I didn't know if reputable. I could use that $100 right about now!

and lundstroms they are sister companies. just becareful i got my fh ring from there and we got screwed. They told us that we can resize the ring under our ins through them and when we found out that they were closing i just called to dlb check and guess what you cant. So we had to go bad and fight with them to give our money back. We had to return my fh wedding band that he loved. But he found an even better one- so it worked out in the end. good luck ladies

We got my ring appraised the first week we had it. We found someone that came right to our apartment but he charged $200 which was a little high. I got insurance through Liberty Mutual who does my car insurance and it's $144 for the year. HTH.

i got my ring appraised by the jewelry judge not too far from roosevelt field mall and got my ring insured with jewelers mutual for $560 a year but they let you do a payment plan if its over a certain amount! And you can pay online which i love!!

the jeweler that your FH bought the ring should have appraised it for you for free ... Ours did that, a very detailed one at that, and we put it on my parents home owners insurance ,it was very affordable for a year and next year when we get renters insuarnce we will put it on that. I got the appraisal when I got the ring and we insured it like the next day! God forbid I love it and would cry if I lost it and it wasnt insured !!!
