Re: Riu Aruba
I stayed in the Riu Palace in Cancun - it was terrific. The food was about average - no worse than any other AI but, by my standards, not much better either. We staying at the Riu Palace in Aruba on our HM.

I liked the food in the restaurants versus the buffets. Make reservations as soon as you get there and you can eat in an a la carte restaurant everyday if you want. I like that the RIU resorts have tons of snacks and options so if you don't like something you can always go to a different place (normally by the beach) and get something else. I loved the food in Punta Cana but didnt care too much for some of the dinner items in Jamaica. Like the PP said in comparison with other AI's they are about the same or a little better.

Re: Riu Aruba
My boss stayed there last October shortly after it opened.
He said the food and drinks were above avg and the hotel was GORGEOUS. But he did say that when they checked in, they put him in an ALREADY OCCUPIED ROOM. So he went back down. And then they did it AGAIN!
I would read through the trip advisor reviews...obviously some of the people on there are insane, but I find that alot of them are pretty accurate.
