Hi; I am looking to book a destination wedding for January 2009. I am deciding between a superclubs in Jamaica or the RIU in bahamas. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice please?

I'm having a destination wedding in the Bahamas. I was thinking of Jamaica (Grand Lido in Negril is supposed to be nice), but it will take the guests a while to arrive and depart because of the ride from the airport to Negril. My travel agent also said that if my FH and I were to stay at the Grand Lido for an extended period of time (honeymoon included), we might become bored because there's not many restaurants or things to do at the resort. I wanted all inclusive, so we ended up with Sandals Royal Bahamian. I know she mentioned the RIU Bahamas at some point, but she said Sandals does the best weddings. It's also only about a 2.5 hour flight from JFK, and 10 min. from the airport, so guests can easily come for 3 nights/4days and not be traveling 2 of the days.

WHen are you getting married? So are you going with the Sandals in Jamaica? I have been to sandals and they are very nice. The ride from the airport to the RIu in the bahamas is 15.5 miles (approx 20-25 min) and the flight is also about 2.5 hours. Just becareful with jamaica because there is often a lot of driving between the airport and their resorts.
