Re: Riu Palace - Cabo San Lucas
I stayed at the RIU Palace Cabo San Lucas. It's in a very good locations and the hotel is nice. We did go in the water but they don't advice it. The food was pretty good for an all inclusive and the rooms were nice. I would say the hotel is more of a party hotel, we went with a big group. So if you are looking for a party type of atmosphere this is perfect. If you are looking for a more romantic relaxing atmosphere I would try somewhere else. All in all I had a great time at the RIU in Cabo San Lucas and I would definitely go back. I you have any questions let me know I'd be happy to help you out.

Re: Riu Palace - Cabo San Lucas
When I visit the Carribean/S. America, I only stay at the Riu hotels. I gave up all the Sandals hotels and only stay at Rui's. They are clean, friendly and the food is very good for an all inclusive. We are staying at the Riu in Playa Del Carmen for our honeymoon.

Re: Riu Palace - Cabo San Lucas
I stayed at the Riu Cabos San Lucas about a year and a half ago and it was very nice. The food is ALRIGHT, and the actual hotel is AMAZING. The hotel is very clean, but I would make sure that you stay in a room with a nice view (towards the back of the hotel). If you stay in one of the rooms on the side, you'll see lots of construction going on. The pools were amazing and the wait staff was friendly. They don't recommend going into the water unless you're a strong swimmer.. (which I'm not) The hotel itself is very accommodating ie: they have travel agents that sit at the hotel all day that help you book fun excursions, they do massages on the beach. At night they have local vendors come and sell souvenirs at the hotel.
The crowd is generally on the younger side, so it was fun for me when I went with the FH. Overall, I had a very pleasant experience there.

Agree with most of this. I don't consider myself a fussy eater, but I didn't like most of the food there...but the hotel is GORGEOUS.
The beds are really hard tho and there is a foul stench that comes over the hotel at like 8 every night. It smells like sewage!
I also read alot about people getting robbed there on trip advisor so I was really concious of locking up everything I had or hiding it really well, but it IS Mexico after all.
What I loved about it was that it was pretty close to town. The time I went to Cabo before that, we stayed at the Westin and while it was AMAZING it was like half hour-40 mins from town and we had to go there every night for dinner/entertainment.
Two restaurants I recommend in Cabo--you HAVE GOT to eat at the restaurant at the Esperanza, its unreal. And Ediths for all over yumminess!
FM me if you have any specific questions!

Re: Riu Palace - Cabo San Lucas
Thanks girls for all the advice..it really is helpful and I think we are going to go ahead and book our Honeymoon at Riu in Cabo. What I like is that it is 1/2hr from the airport and 10 minutes to downtown. I stayed at the Riu Palace in Cancun & in Dominican Republic - Hotels and grounds have always been beautiful and well kept. Service has always been wonderful -people always helpful and accomodating. I stayed at Riu once more in Och Rios - wonderful time. At all the stays I have never experienced any negativity or theft. I was worried about the hurricane season in the Caribeean during July - which is not always but can happend..I did not want to be disappointed and book in the hurricane belt or end up going and run into rainy weather. Thanks girls
