Has anybody had any experience blocking their hotel rooms with Hotel Indigo, Hilton Garden Inn, Hyatt Place and/or Holiday Inn Express? Any info or recommendations ? TIA

Re: Riverhead hotel blocks
We blocked our hotel at the Hilton in Riverhead - they were great!! Clean rooms, and we felt like they gave us the most for our money. When we went to the Holiday Inn to check out the blocks, they kept us waiting in the lobby for like a half hour before we met with someone. They 'forgot' we were there. Just were really turned off by it.

I plan on using the Hilton garden inn - did they provide a shuttle for your guests?

I don't have any experience with getting a block of rooms in riverhead meyself, but my friend did- she use the hilton garden and we stayed there for the night. it was really nice and totally reasonable! we also took their shuttles to the reception- i dont know what the deal is with that, but if its included, it is a nice perk!

the hilton has like 5 little shuttle buses sitting outside their hotel 24/7 so it would be pretty messed up if they DIDNT offer a free shuttle. lol

I only ask because my sister did a room block with a different Hilton garden inn and when more people booked than they anticipated the hotel said they wouldn't give them the shuttle anymore since it only fits 8 people and they were only willing to do 2 trips.

The shuttle at the Hilton in Riverhead WAS NOT included. I was pissed off too, considering they had a bunch of them just sitting outside but I got over it and my Dad paid my stepsister to taxi people. The Hilton did say they will provide them for a fee...

2012_Bride- I love the Hotel Indigo and want to block my rooms there but they're coming across somewhat disorganized and unaccomdoating. Can you tell me who you worked with over there? TIA

Barbeik005-Thanks-they definitely came across more accomodating and organized than Indigo and definitely better value for the money. Thanks for sharing!

Riverhead hotel blocks
My cousin had rooms blocked at Hotel Indigo and it was awesome. They had an after party by the pool and we were down there until about 3am. Also, the rooms were so chic and stylish. Very modern and clean too.

We went with Hyatt. Cheaper than Indigo, MUCH bigger rooms. Great to deal with. Hotel has an upgraded cont. breakfast too. I think the Holiday Inn Express offered us a shuttle, but it was crazy expensive and only one round trip for ~10 people.

It is not included, blocked there and east wind in March.
