I was just wondering what people's thoughts were on the Riviera at Massapequa. I just got engaged in April, but we are starting to look for places and this one seems great. Just looking for some feedback. Thanks!

Re: Riviera at Massapequa
I go there every year b/c my fh is a fireman down the block so he has his dinners there. The place is very pretty and water is great. The isn't bad and it definetely is worth the price. The only negative for me was that it was too small for my wedding (250). HTH

Congratulations! One of the brides on the 2010 board is having her wedding at the Riviera. You can also check out the Brides Review board and see it there.
The Riviera is very nice, but I had a lot of trouble getting in touch with them so we decided not to look there, plus we were going through wedding hall burn out and decided to make a decision between the halls we visited.

i went to a wedding there - loved the outdoor aspect of the hall but had issues with the setup inside (we were going to pick there instead of clm but we like clm setup inside better). Food was good service was good.

Re: Riviera at Massapequa
I thought the Riviera was absolutely beautiful and was almost ready to book there.
They only do 1 reception at a time. While I liked that idea, that also turned out to be the biggest drawback for me because of timing. They first affair can go until 5. They second affair pretty much cannot start until 6 at the earliest. I wanted to have a 5:30 ceremony start during sunset.
While the place is beautiful, if you happen to have bad weather, everyone is stuck inside. While this is true of any venue, I truly feel like the Riviera was too cramped to have both ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner all in the same 2 rooms. That just my opinion though based on the amount of ppl I was having.
They are reasonably priced and have a great menu. They BM that was talking to us was very nice and friendly and answered all my questions patiently.
So, it is a beautiful place and reasonably priced with a great menu. It wasn't exactly what I was looking for in terms of my wedding, but I would definitely consider hosting another event there.

i just had my wedding there and it was great. depending on how big your wedding is - I know they say they can accomodate 200 but i would not go over 160.
if you have specific questions FM me.

Re: Riviera at Massapequa
went there last year for a wedding very nice- the out door service was great and the cocktail hour was wow- there was sooo much food and it was really good- def not for a large wedding but plus is they only do one at a time- nice photos taken with the water in background.
good luck on your hunt!!!

I've been to 3 weddings there, and although it is very pretty in the summer, I was not overly crazy about their food.

Re: Riviera at Massapequa
My brother had his wedding there in January and it was beautiful!!! My fiance and I wanted to book there but we have too many people. Riviera is incredible for a smaller crowd.....I don't think I would book there if you were having more than 150-165 ppl!!!
