Riviera brides past & present

Did you feel the need for up-lighting? FH and I are really considering it but aren't sure if its worth it

not at all. The place has such a rustic feel to it that I thought it would ruin it with uplighting. JMO though, I know some girls did have it. I just wanted to keep the natural beauty of the place.

We are doing minimal uplighting around the dance floor and were thinking about lining the exposed brick with candles along the floor to play up the brick. I agree that you don't want to take away the rustic feeling, that's why we are planning on doing more candlelight since our wedding is at night. Can't wait!!

That is FH's opinion exactly!! I think we might just go without it

it's funny to me b/c you're saying you have so much to do... at the number of months out that you are from your wedding (approx 9 months), i had just booked my place. that was the only thing I had done. booked my florist one month out, booked my hair/makeup two weeks ago, in the process of booking the shuttle vans... and those are only the *big* things. this week i'll be working on programs and menus and seating... with the amount of time you have left, you should be stress-free. you have plenty of time!!!

I was dead set against it in the beginning b/c i didnt want to take away from the rustic feeling the walls and ceilings give.

Then as planning went a long and I kept seeing pics and video of the place with uplighting we went for it and we LOVED IT!!!!

It didnt take anything way but it totally added something and made those accents really stick out!!

We only did it on the dance floor which was super cool b/c i did kind of want that club feeling and we had that on the dance floor but not the whole place.

Here is a picture of the room w/ no one in it and the lighting... yea, you see the lighting but you can still see the special elements of the room. This was just our opinion, i think the place looks amazing either way!!!

I would be having a major anxiety attack lol. I am bugging out now and I still have time I guess lol. Sometimes under pressure I don't work so well
Some people are just better at it.
I can't wait to see pictures

Thank you!!

I havent written a review yet since we are leaving for our HM in a week so I wanted to put everything together.

Everything went okay with the RH.... we had a coupl slip ups.. 1 being a chair was missing from my family table, it was fixed w/in minutes and with tons of apologies.

The bridal attendent was M*I*A most of the night but probably b/c I had DOC's - but she was still nice and helpful when I did have questions.

My one big complaint was how the tables were set up - I found the seating chart they gave us to be VERY misleading. It was too late for me to fix anything by the time I realized who was sitting where. This is one thing that still kind of bothers me.

I will have a full review in like a month or 2 after we get back from the HM.

If you are a Riviera bride you are in good hands. People are still talking about the food and the place

I'm sure you must be busy preparing for your honeymoon... how exciting! Glad to hear that you enjoyed your big day despite the mishaps.

If you have time, could you explain a bit more about the seating? I'm meeting with them this weekend and am supposed to give them the seating chart. After reading your comment, I'm curious if I'm misinterpreting how the seating is based on the sheet they gave me?

Thanks!

Thanks!

The way we read the seating chart was that NO tables were stuck in that back corner! Therefore we placed people on that side of the seating chart thinking it was all the main area right on the dance floor.

Well after looking at the sheet the right side is that back corner that everyone hates. I wish that was explained more on the sheet or in person.

My recco - when you go with your seating chart actually go into the ballroom and have them point out which table is where so you can visually see in the room where the table will go.

I was considering sticking vendors there?

Yeah, I'd love to avoid seating people at that back corner table, but I think we might have to. We have about 145 guests, so it might be inevitable. How many people did you have at your wedding? It stinks that you were mislead... I hope that all the good things that happened on your day more than made up for it!

We ended up having to stick a table of people there, but only because FH was being a biatch. If we had sat our two family tables next to ours, we would have not had to do it, but he didn't want anyone sitting with us Serious groomzilla lately.

We have 14 tables... it's table 14 that's in that corner, right? Oh, well... whatcha gonna do?!?

Chantell - totally off-topic here, but we're going to hold off until the middle of next week before picking up citronella torches. By then we'll have a pretty good idea about the weather - if it's good, we'll get them, but if it rains, then it's pointless. I'll let you know what we decide to do!
