Re: Riviera Cake question

Not me but my cousin paid for an upgrade for her cake and they did all wrong she wanted it plain so the florist could put real flowers on it and they putfake candy flowers all over it and she ask for bannana filling and they filled it with lemon. She called them for a refund and they told her to call the baker, they've yet to reply to her complaint.

Re: Riviera Cake question

I know, sorry for the bad news. It was the one thing my cousin was really upset about they put a cascade of flowers on one side so they turned the cake so the fake flowers were facing the back of the table and no one would see them so it wasn't that bad. I was just upset by the way they handled it as oon as she saw it she complained to them and the woman just said, 'I know I already called the baker and yelled at him' . Ok but how is that suppose to help, she should have said, I know you'll be geting a refund for the upgrade you paid for.

Re: Riviera Cake question

Everything was very nice, I didn't go to the cocktail hour I was constantly fixing her dress but everyone said the food at the cocktail hour was wonderful! The dinner was excelent! The only other thing was I guess I expected them to be more attentive, for instance they had a waitress came to the bridal suite a few times and take drink orders but the food they had set up was all gone in about 10 minutes and no one ever came back to refill it, not that it really mattered we were all running around taking pictures but it was obvious that everyone was hungry if the food was gone so quickly so they should have had someone to be more on top of things, at least in the bridal suite. I think much of the problem was that everything was running really late (we got there at the same time all of the quests did and we still had to take all the pics) which caused a lot of choas and everyone was just running around like lunatics. I'm sure that if you stress any concerns you may have everything will be fine.

Hope I didn't upset you, I'm sure everything will be beautiful don't let this one cake experience get you down. It is very likely the baker was just having a bad day.

I am getting the cake that the Riviera provides, because it comes from one of the best bakery' s know in LI. Black Forest! They really do a good job, I think that other posting about the girls cousin was just a fluke. But as far as the quality/taste, it is very good. Good luck!

Re: Riviera Cake question

I spoke to my cousin, she said the bakery called her back and said they don't know why they told her to call them, they said we can show you the order that Riviera gave us, if you didn't get what you want it's b/c they put the order in wrong. So it seems her banquet manager was at fault, giving the bakery the wrong info.

BTW, everyone said the cake was tasted wonderful. The problem was that the bride and groom did not get what they ordered. Just thought I would give you the update.
