Did any of you have a food tasting after you booked? Do you do it at the time when you do your menu?
Also, where do they get the cakes from?

Re: Riviera Girls--Food ?
I first met with Michelle to get a feel of the place then went back the next weekend with my parents and FH for a tasting. They bring you in for a tasting before and event starts so you can taste the food actually made for a wedding.
Some places schedule days just for tastings - so its always easier to cook for a group of 30 people vs a group of 200. With the Riviera you are actually tasting the quality of food for a wedding. We LOVED it - the food was a big thing for my FH and my family has been in the food business for all my life and my mom and dad both loved the food we tasted. It kind of sealed the deal for us - b/c we booked that day!
As for the cake - we haven't gotten to that point yet so I am still not decided on which of their reccomended bakery's to use. I know one bakery is Black Forrest - I can't remember the other.
As for the menu - you plan that out I think like a month or 2 before the wedding day. You go back there and plan out all those details.
Hope this helps!

Re: Riviera Girls--Food ?
I was able to taste the CH food at a showcase they did a while back and I loved it!
We still have time, but we are eventually going to do what previous poster said and schedule a day to come in for a tasting before an event so we can sample the actual menu times.
As for the cake, the bakers they use are Black Forest Bakery and Campbell's Bakery. I have heard good things about both, but a lot of girls seem to use Black Forest. You would just have to call either place up and tell them you would like to schedule a tasting for your upcoming wedding at the Riviera. I would also bring some pictures in of cake designs you like so you can see if they can do it (since the cake is included in the package, I'm not sure if you have an extravagant design the baker would do it and not charge extra. They might though).
