Riviera in Massapequa?

Hi all,
I'm new to this site... just engaged a week and a half ago. My fiance and I are going to look at the Riviera in Massapequa. Does anyone have any feedback about that place? likes/dislikes etc.? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

I had my reception there! I absolutely loved it there! Not 1 single thing went wrong. If you go, make sure you work with Victoria, not Michelle. Victoria is such a sweetheart!!!! Robert Jay is wonderful too! The food is excellent also. In my opinion, there is no better deal on LI. If you have any questions, let me know!

I am getting married there oin Friday!! I love it there-- the food is great and in my opinion, there is no better deal. You get sooo much for your money and everyone who has ever been there for a wedding has the best time. If you want more info, you can FM me. Good Luck!

we loved it but a few negs were
1. The cocktail area (if it was forced to be inside) was way too small for our amount of people
2. The mainroom is shaped funny a few tables are completely tucked away
3. The inside is very dark

Pos
1. The water is absolutely gorgeous
2. food was good
3. CLose to my church

It was our second choice

It was actually my first choice but my FH now DH as of yesterday!! OMG first time I posted that! He didn't like the cocktail room. Since we have seen it they have done some renovating on it though. Loved the Riviera though!

We had our reception there. Loved it! It's gorgeous. Robert Jay is awesome. The bridal room is great! They have an awesome big mohagony bar. Since I got married, they extended the cocktail hour room. Only 1 wedding at a time, and it doesn't have the typical reception hall feel to it. I have a feeling you will love it! I will say if you are having more than 130 people, it can get tight.

The riviera is gorgeous. I grew up in the neighborhood that it's located in. The food is fantastic and the views are stunning. The service there is very attentive. The only drawback (if you want to call it that) is that it caters to small intimate weddings. I would say it starts to get crowded if you have more than 150 people. Good luck and congratulations!!!

My MOH was married there in September of 2004. It was really nice, the ceremony was outside and the scenery was beautiful. The Maitre D was Excellent (Rob was his name) and the food was great too. The only think I don't like about it is the shape of the room. If you have a larger wedding some of the tables are literally in the corners of the room which I found odd.

My step sister was married there in December of 2005, again - great food, great service. But due to the cold time of year the cocktail hour was inside and it was extremely crowded. They don't have a separate room for the cocktail hour, it's just a little section of the reception room right off the bar that they did the cocktail hour in. She had about 150 people and it was very close quarters.

I'll be getting married there on the 29th and have had nothing but positive experiences dealing with the staff. As others have said it is best if you have no more than 150 people.

I am including a link below with pictures of the recently renovated cocktail hour room.

I am actually having 175 people and it will be fine. My sister got married there two years ago and she had 188! It was totally fine. The cocktail hour room is beautiful now too.

i went there 2 yrs ago and really liked it!! when i went to look for my own wedding....well i wasnt as impressed with it. As for the best deal...im a winter bride and i def got better quotes and most of those places offered some more food.
but they did throw in the choc fountain!!

oh i just saw now they changed it up and updated....see that wasnt done when we went either...so maybe its better now!! wonder did they change the main room as well??

i did love the bar...it was sooo big! and the cocktail hr was nice outside, even served bagels!

Re: Riviera in Massapequa?

I got married there last May and I have no complaints at all. We had 183 people, and yes, cocktail hour was tight, but I heard no complaints from anyone (I was so happy that I really wouldn't have cared if they complained anyway!) They treated us like royalty and everything was wonderful. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

ETA: There are pics of my wedding in my review
