Has anyone been there? We're considering Excellence Riviera Cancun for our honeymoon. I keep reading rave reviews about the property. My concern is this: FH and I are club goers. We need a good nightlife, but not a foam party filled with 20 year olds. Are there decent clubs in the area? Playa del Carmen is 20 minutes away, as is Cancun. Suggestions? Any help is welcome :)
Loved riviera Maya...we stayed at El Dorado Seaside Suites and it was awesome! We stayed on the property so we weren't going out really to clubs. I've also been to candu. Which of course has clubs, I haven't been there since Spring break 2001 when life was very different lol..but from what I've heard they've completely done cancun over and it's very nice!
We were in Riviera Maya in April. We really liked it and there was a lot to do, good restaurants, and a cute town, however I wouldn't say great clubs. There were lots of places that looked like they were trying to be clubish but when we tried to check things out they were dead. Now at 1 or 2:00 am maybe the story is different. We are more of excursion, drink in the afternoon, get dressed up and have nice dinner people, and usually that means were in bed by 11:00 from exhaustion!
My sister stayed at an excellence resort for her hm and loved it but she is no a club type person but she said that there was a lot to do.
I've been to both....I would say Cabo is more of a party scene. We went out in Cabo to clubs a few times and partied at beach clubs during the day. We stayed at the ME so we were at Nikki Beach club all the time, and could walk down to Mango Deck. There was a Club in our hotel that was open all night then there's Cabo Wabo, Giggling Marlin, Pink Kitty and El Squid Roe which are always busy. I would say if you're party people go to Cabo over Riviera Maya....we got engaged there & love it!
