riviera/chateau la mer

riviera/chateau la mer

i just made two appointments for this sunday. my first one is at the riveria at 3pm and my second is at clm at 530...i am very excited, it makes it feel so real now that we are actually visiting places. i spoke to vicky from riviera and i loved her personality but lou from chateau did not seem very interested or friendly--i could be wrong it was just a two minute conversation. now my question is for those who have been to either place---are there separate rooms for cocktail room? and if it is outside is there a room for the cocktail hour outside or is it held in the same area? im not sure what to ask about when i go? i have been reading these boards like crazy the past month and it seems like everything has to be in a contract? what should i ask is included in the price they give me..and if anybody has had/having their wedding at these places your input is greatly appreciated...thank you....from crazy bride to be lol

Well first, congrats on getting the ball rolling... it's so exciting!!!

My FH & I took one look at Chateau Le Mer and fell in love. We actually met with Lou and he was great. We didn't need to ask many question because he answered everything in his presentation of the place.
There is a separate CH room but, weather permitting you are able to go outdoors for CH. The views are breathtaking... I don't think you can get a better view anywhere else! Your CH won't interfere with any other function going on there that day. They stagger the weddings by an hour and a half.
According to another thread they will be changing the dancefloor in the downstairs room from wood (which is what it is now) to marble.
Good luck and HAVE FUN!!

you will love it when u see Chateau la mer- thats what happened to me as soon as i walked in- we looked at 5 other halls - CLM has so much to offer you- you get so much for your money. Well if CLM is not for u - i would definitely say shop around!!!!

What did you think about your visits?

BTW - Work with Nick from CLM - He will never sound uninterested, will never forget your name and is just awesome!

Though we didn't book with CLM (our very close 2nd choice) we also worked with Lou. Let me tell you he is sooooo nice. His phone demonor is weird but in person he is a doll. He explained everything thoroughly and we were very impressed. He answered any questions we had and made us feel very welcomed. Good luck. We also had an appointment at Riviera but cancelled when we booked our hall.

Let me know how you liked them both I am thing the clm is probably more elegant than the Riverview, but Riverview offers 1 wedding and clm has more than one. Let me know what you though of them because I have to go meet with them also.

i actually didnt go to either appt...we got lost trying to find the riviera and missed our appt and we drove up to clm and werent to crazy about the surroundings...a gas station across the street and half on the water, i had thought it was totally on the water...well after we stopped at clm we decided to give the riviera a try to find it again and we did and i just have a problem, i want a place that looks like clm on the outside but has the surroundings and beauty as the riviera...anybody know a place like that?

I visited CLM a couple weekends ago and I don't recall seeing a gas station! What I do recall is passing a big CHATEAU LA MER SIGN on a main street about 5 minutes before we even arrived at the actual hall. We first thought that the hall was behind the sign but we weren't even close... it was just there to direct drivers to the correct road I guess. So are you sure you saw the right place?

...when we got there...we absolutely loved it! No gas stations and it was on the marina...no main streets there.

I'd go with CLM because I just LOVED the setup...I've never seen the Riviera though!

yes there was a very small gas station on the other side of the street that i believe is used for boats...i did not like the drive up the bumpy road and seeing hundreds of boats and it being paritally on the water and the tiny tiny tiny ceremony outside which is not on grass how i would like it...to each their own

The riveria is nice if you it is a nice day because it is on the water and it can be outside. If it is raining, they have a room off to the side of your reception room. It is a nice place. Lot's of wood, very warm and cozy. You are the only bride there.

CLM was very nice also. I spoke to Nick and he was great we even went for a tasting and the food was excellent. You arrive to your cocktail hour on a boat. It can be outside or inside and the reception is in a sepatate room and the vienese is back in the cocktail room.

We went with the Sandcastle for our reasons but both were very nice.

theres not enough room to have the cocktail hour outside at clm. maybe a few people but not everyone. at the riviera, your whole ch party is oustide if the weather is good, if not you have this beautiful room inside. the place isnt like every other hall. i chose this place over clm because it is 1 wedding at a time, and we worked with robert jay and he was absolutely amazing. we worked with lou at clm and he was cold and distant. clm is absolutely gorgeous inside though. so dont just give up on a hall because of the surroundings cause thats just dumb. the place is absolutely gorgeous and i bet you wont find a place you'll like the surroundings.

clm you can the cocktail a bit outside. I like clm better because riviera is totally hard to find. my fh got lost getting to it. we got slightly lost going to clm, but not as crazy as you could get lost going to riviera. he ended up on the other side of a golf course. riviera has a bit of an old appearance too when you walk through it. very dark and dreary.
