With the help of the ladies on this board, I was able to ascertain the designer of a dress I fell in love with even though the store would not tell me. (Very shady and illegal!) Anyway, that store is selling this Ian Stuart dress for $1,100 and RK Bridal sells it for $950.
I got a quote from Netbride (which I believe is an authorized dealer of on this dress) for only $675. Will RK Bridal beat an internet price by 5% or does it only beat other store prices? Also, RK Bridal's website said this policy only applies to mail orders. Does that mean I can't go and try it on there? I want to show it to some of my bridesmaids before I commit.
If anyone has any experiences with RK Bridal and its price beating policy, I would love to hear from you! Thanks!!

Re: RK Bridal
RK Bridal is located in the City. I am not sure if they price beat, but I know that a lot of girls have had great experiences with netbride--they dresses come very soon. What I would do, I would go to RK and show the girls the dresses and even have them try them on. If they like them, order them from netbride.

Re: RK Bridal
RK Bridal will beat the other price. BUT...if you buy it online, that's it. You can't bring it to their store for alterations or anything. That's why the price is so cheap. It's just the dress.
My suggestion is to try it on at the Bridal shop and then go home and order it online. That's what I did and saved tons of $$.

Re: RK Bridal
I had some awful experiences at RK Bridal. They double charged my credit card for BM dresses for my friends wedding - Amex is still fighting with them 5 months later. Plus when I went to try on shoes there I found a cockroach in one of the shoes. They also did an awful job on one of my friend's alterations.
I've dealt with netbride and found them nothing but wonderful to deal with.

Re: RK Bridal
here's the address/hours/phone
RK Bridal 318 West 39th St. (Between 8th & 9th Ave. ) New York City, NY 10018
Hours Monday - Friday 11am-7pm No appointments needed Saturday 9:45am-3:45pm No appointments needed Sundays October 5th to Dec.14th Hours 11:30 to 3:30
You should call RK and ask them to explain their no-frills policy to you. You should also ask for the policy in writing.
From what I know- the policy for price matching with the extra 5% discount of a lower quote is only for their no-frills program. That means that you tell them what size you are based on their size chart- they will not take your measurements or tell you what size you need to order- you have to find out the size chart from the manufacturer. You have to present the price quote to them in writing and then they will give you that price plus 5% off.
You can certainly go into their store and try on the dress. Then, tell them you need to think about it. Then, you can either send in your order as I explained above or call them and ask if you can order through their no-frills policy in the store. I think other girls have done that.

Re: RK Bridal
Actually, i think RK Bridal may even beat it by 10% but I am not exactly sure. I have had wonderful experiences with them so far. I ordered my bridal gown from there, my bridesmaids, flowergirls, my mothers dress and fh's mother got her dress from there too. They have always been very helpful and nice. A friend of mine got her dress from there and all of our bridesmaids dresses and we all had good experiences. They really seem to be a very good store. Of course you can run into good and bad experiences everywhere with any store. For anyone who is interested try it out.

Re: RK Bridal
I tried on my dress in another store and bought it from RK Bridal-no frills. Definitely try it on somewhere else first so you know the size. RK will meet the Netbride price and give you the 5% too. I had a very good experience with my dress, it came in early and was very easy. I saved about $900. I had a terrible time with the BM dresses. I admit I took too long to order them but they took forever. They came maybe two weeks after the date guaranteed even with rush delivery. Just a warning. Also if you go with no frills make sure you know a good seamstress. I wasn't thrilled with mine. It made the process more stressful and made me second guess my decision a few times although it all turned out fine.
