RK Bridal

Does anyone know how this works if you go in and try dresses and order from them? Do they do alterations or is it the 'no frills' policy? Please help!!

hey divabride,
I believe that you can try dresses on in their shop, but i think there's a 10 dress per day max. also, it is a no frills program and they do alterations for you if you choose. however, i just heard that they are no longer offering the deep discount prices...you may want to look into that.

Re: RK Bridal

Here's the situation. I called for a bill levkoff bm dress and they quoted me at $159. I told them I found it cheaper at houseofbrides.com for $138 and she said when I order it to send in the $138 quote and they would match it. Now I was wondering if I could go there, order the dresses at $138 and get alterations done. Anyone know?

If you do the price match, they will order it via their no frills policy. That means they will not do your alterations. That's how I got my dress.

I did it and it was so worth it. They can take it to a dry cleaner's, BM dresses are not usually all that complicated.

Re: RK Bridal

In the past, whenever I have had to get BM dresses altered, I have just gone to my local tailor (not always the same one) and not had any trouble.

With wedding gowns, I totally understand why we take more time in picking someone since there is a lot of intricate work involved.

Your girls will probably be ok with using their own tailors in case that is one less thing you don't want to worry about.

If their in LI, I have a good one in Suffolk. She alters and makes wedding gowns. And she is a vendor on here too. http://www.liweddings.com/vendors/gowns/fashions/

Re: RK Bridal

I did the no frills program for my BM dresses, but my BM were out of state anyway & were going to have to find there own seamstresses. I think htye went to local bridal shops.

Also, for the no frills, you do the measurements your self. One of my bms had help from her aunt who had a clue, but my other one did it herself & I think ordered too big. It shows a little in the final product.

I think measuring is the key. I ordred a dress too big at David's and taking it in a lot, just didn't look the same as the other girls.
