Since I work in NYC, I am going to RK Bridal one night and see what they are all about. Is there anything I need to know? Do I have to bring a strapless bra or do they have one I can use? Do the ladies that work there come in the dressing room the you and help you with the dress? Thanks!

Re: RK Bridal
Everyone seems to have a different experience. When I went I was wearing my own strapless bra but they'll lend you one if you need it. The woman would not let me out of her sight, she stayed in the fitting room with me the whole time.

Re: RK Bridal
Definitely wear a nude strapless bra and don't wear a thong. I've never been to RK (but plan to) but just from experience of trying dresses on in salons.

Re: RK Bridal
i'm going this week too, to FINALLY buy my dress. They have a bazillion of bras in all sizes and styles but if you have your own bring it (who want's to use anonymous bras?) and yes wear boy shorts b/c the lady will be seeing you in 'the all-together'. They do stay in the room w/ you and usually I hate that but it is really difficult to get into and out of those things so I appreciated the help.

I work in the city also.. but it was impossible to go after work... they weekdays at 7! also the weekend hours are pretty sucky too...like 9-3 sat i think. Make sure you get there as early as possible on the weekends... its a mad house.

It's best to go early. also they dresses are divided up by designers. There are so many dresses it's so overwhelming. I worked with Janice she's great.

I actually just bought my dress from them on Sunday. It wasn't crowded at all. I got there when it opened. I signed my name for a fitting room and I was seriously in and out in about 2 hours. I tried on about 15 dresses or so. They're in there putting the dresses on for you one by one and also grabbing others you might like. They were very helpful. Wear a strapless bra def

i went one friday after work - it wasn't super crowded. i loved that i didn't need an appt and they aren't stuffy at all - you can pick out your own dresses and then they'll find ones for you if you have pics

Re: RK Bridal
i bought my dress there to, my advice is to go on a weekday like amon or tues... its a busy place, ended up not getting my alterations done, because despite calling and scheduling my three fittings, when i went to try dress on when it first came, they had no recollection of my fittings in the system, creeped me out, so i took my dress and left.... BUT so many dresses lots of options and more affordable than any other place

Re: RK Bridal
I bought my dress from them in the spring and I was there this weekend looking at BM dresses. I work close by too and stop by all the time!! The selection is amazing and everytime I have been there the people have been so helpful. Wear a strapless bra and yes they will stay with you and help you in and out of the dresses. You have to go through the racks yourself but I personally like that so I can pick I stuff I like instead of a stranger picking out stuff for me (at Kleinfeld the woman couldn't pick out one thing that I liked and wouldn't let me look through the dresses so I left).
Give R&K a try.

Re: RK Bridal
I did bought my dress at RK's (at the time I worked close to the store) and they were very helpful and relaxed. I went after work on a not-so-crowded evening (Thursday nite) and by closing, I bought the dress. The dresses are separated by designer and you can pick up to 7 to bring into the dressing room.
However, I don't think I'll have my alterations there now that I moved and that the wedding is now postponed. Plus, I think the dress might be too big by the time I lose the extra pounds. It's already big on top.
Anyway, bring your own strapless bra and own thoughts and you'll have a great time.

Re: RK Bridal
i would personally bring my own bra, i wouldnt want to wear a bra god knows how many ppl have tried on.
I went twice and both times were for bridesmaid dresses and nobody helped us out...I liked that i was able to look freely through the racks but when my moh was trying on dresses, some were big or the zipper was broken and we could've used their help but they wouldn't...maybe when you go for a wedding dress they're different

Re: RK Bridal
I just walked in one day. I had my bra on, not strapless. If you bring one fine but not a big deal if you wear what you have. I went in to try on BM dresses on my own just to get a feel of what I like and what my girls would like
