RK Bridal Horror (long)

RK Bridal Horror (long)

I am Sept20yay!'s MOH and had the WORST experience at RK Bridal in regards to her bridesmaid dresses.

We ordered the dresses in March, and in all fairness they arrived well ahead of schedule. That is where the positive ends. I called RK last week to get a status and was told in a snotty tone that the dresses are being inspected and will be done in 15minutes can we expect you then? I explained that I work in NJ and was going away for the weekend - could I pick them up in a week. Major attitude about that. Not sure I would have even known the dresses were in if I hadn't called.

I called yesterday AM to say I would be picking the dresses up that afternoon/early evening. I even told the receptionist I would be there between 5:15 and 6. I got there at 5:30 and have NEVER dealt with such incredible attitude and hostility. The dresses weren't ready, I was double charged for the dresses (despite my credit card statement showing I had already paid once). The screwed up financials are a headache which I will deal with through my credit card company - the attitude was appaling. I asked for a receipt and was given one illegible receipt for each item (tops, skirts, wraps). I said I wanted ONE receipt with everything on it and got scribble on the back of an envelope. When I insisted on a receipt I was told to 'stop being so **** nasty.' Trust me I wasn't nasty then, and if I hadn't had the dresses in my hand I would have raised holy hell. As it was I just walked out.

Behind me on line was a bride whose dress they apparently LOST 4 weeks before her wedding!

This is not the first time I have experienced poor customer service at RK Bridal - when I went to try on dresses for my own wedding and asked for assistance looking for a particular dress I encountered major attitude and hostility.

I am writing a letter to the owner as well as the better business bureau. As of now RK Bridal has screwed me out of $2000 and any business I might have given them for my own wedding is going to NetBride.

I know some have had positive experiences at RK Bridal, and I hate to rag on a vendor, but I just wanted those still looking to know the good as well as the bad.

Wow sorry!

My MOH who is 5 months prego, ordered her dress last month, they did a rush order on the Jim Hjelm maternity dress & it came in yesterday!

My wedding is in 2 weeks so they did well by me.

Talk to the owner about this, he is a really nice man.

WHAAAAAT!! aw da mn!! girl.. I ordered mine the same time as you guys.. They should be in.. I have to call them

Sorry about that hun..

if it makes you feel any better, The color I initially wanted had been discontinued so they called me up 4 weeks after I had ordered them..

although it wasn't their fault, they weren't accommodating AT ALL.. very rude and snotty.. like they could care less.. I just kept quiet and told my sister, who was ready to rip someone's head off, the same.. I'll give them a piece of my mind once the dresses haev beeb picked up..

I'm glad you are taking the appropriate steps to make sure someone knows how crappy they treated you.

Seriously the bridal business needs to shape up. We hear these complaints over and over and over on this board. The universal common denominator is crappy customer service. I'm not entirely certain why some bridal places think it's perfectly okay to treat people like hell, give shoddy, crappy service and expect brides to get over it.

I've said it before and I will say it again. As vendors is is your JOB to serve. Customer service should be your gig and if it's not, you've got nothing. People, like Meghan, will take their business elsewhere if they are treated poorly. It is you guys (mean vendors) who need to get over it.

I'm sorry to hear. You have every right to be angry-there's no excuse for treating a customer like that!

Geez, when I was in customer service I was told that the customer is always right. I had to swallow alot of crow to accomodate some very difficult people. Unless a customer cursed or threatened, I basically had to smile and say yes ma'am and find a way to make them happy to work with our company. I guess the world has changed...

Like Jennbaby said, speak with the manager. He is a nice man and fair and reasonable (IMO).

I got my BM dresses from RK and tried a bunch of wedding gowns on there. I have no complaints, but it is a very, very busy place-maybe too busy for their own good.

Thanks for sharing.

sorry you had such a terrible experience. I would absolutely tell the BBB - you may prevent this from happening to another unsuspecting bride one day.

I hate to admit it becuse I've been raving about RK for while now, but I had a crappy experience there last night, too. I was in there about the same time you were because they told me that my veil came in. They brought out the bag and I asked to see it, but it wasn't my veil. One woman kept insisting that it was, but I knew it wasn't. I was pretty annoyed, and they told me my actual veil won't be in for another 2 weeks. Up until then, I really liked the place, but that experience made me question them.

Eeek! Sorry you had such a bad experience. I ordered through them and they were an absolute pleasure to do business w/. Dresses came in over a month early and the the whole process from start to end was so simple.

Wow. I can't believe your exeriences with RK! I ordered my BM dresses from there. They came in early. I was called to say there were in, but they did only give me 10 days to pick them up. Since I go to grad school all day Saturday, it's not easy for me to just drop everything to drive into the city to pick them up. But when I got there, they were really nice and helpful, and had the dresses out already. I agree that I think they do too much business - it's starting to get to them!

I'm sorry for your bad experience. I've had so-so experiences there & decided long ago I'd just use them to try on dresses but would definitely order from somewhere else!! Glad you're reporting them though.

If anyone does decide to go there & try on dresses - ask to work with Emily - she's the best outta the entire lot!
