I've heard a lot about RK Bridal... What are the pros and cons of going there for a gown? Are they as good for bridesmaids as wedding gowns? Is it difficult to make an appt?

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I got my dress there and I really liked it. However, it is not luxurious at all. Also, I work in the city near there, so I went at my lunch hour and had no problems. I know if people go on Saturdays it gets really crowded, and they don't take appointments (you just sign up). I have also heard that sometimes they limit the number of dresses that you can try on (I tried on a bunch).
I also had some idea of the style that i wanted from trying on dresses in smaller stores.
I got a really good deal on my dress, and the alterations department was great.
They did have a lot of bridesmaids dresses.
HTH! Feel free to FM me with any quesiotns

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I got my BM, and FG dresses there. I thought it was great. they have the biggest selection of BM dresses ever and their prices were the lowest I found.
I was recently there looking for a wedding dress with a friend. I thought the experience was pretty good.
It's def worth checking out. Make a few appts in the city and make a day of it.

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I ordered my gown from there and had a great experience so far. I took a half day of work on a Friday and went in the early afternoon. It wasn't crowded and the person helping me was really great. She found dresses only in the price range I wanted and I found my dress in only 45 minutes. There was a question in the end about my measurements/dress size and they worked to make sure they were ordering me the right size (since it was the size I tried on and that dress was a bit big on me).

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
Pros- Great Selection and professional help (IMO)
Cons- Way too crowded (I had to wait for a dressing room) and no one ever told me they have a 7 dress limit before they kick you out.

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I went there twice but ended up getting my dress at Macy's. I'd been warned about how crowded it gets on Saturdays so I got there early - about 10 minutes before they opened - and signed up right away. I didn't have to wait long at all, and my attendant was great. I probably tried on around 12 dresses, even though by that time there were so many people waiting. I ended up making an appointment to come back on a week day, and that was a different experience. I felt extremely pressured to buy and I found a dress that I liked, but didn't love, and the attendant kept asking me when I was going to buy it. However a woman I work with found her gown there and had a wonderful experience. It is definitely worth a shot - just make sure you bring some pictures of gowns you like, because sifting through all of those dresses on your own gets difficult after a while!

I agree that you should bring pics. All of the gowns are in clear plastic bags but hard to see what they look like and they are crammed together on racks which also makes it difficult to look at them.

I went there also. I would say make sure you know the designers and styles you like and call ahead to make sure they have those dresses there to try on.
I expected the attendant to help me more and pick out a few dresses for me but she didn't.
They are good for BM dresses too.
I ended up not buying there but it was a good start.

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I got both my BM dresses and my dress from RK. I couldnt say a bad word about them. Everyone there is super friendly and super helpful. The girl who helped me try on dresses on my several trips there also helped me with my fittings. And the girl who helped my mom look for a dress remembered us every time we went there. They definately have the best prices around---- but if you are looking for a luxurious bridal salon, this is definately not your place. Everything is very 'do-it-yourself'. You look for dresses yourself- and take them off the rack. The staff helps you put the dresses on, but that is about it. They wont pick out dresses for you or anything like that. But, I still would recommend them to anyone who asks. :) Let me know if you have any questions!

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I went there on Monday and was helped by a girl called Iesha (sp?). She pciked a few dresses for me and honestly those were the only ones that looked good with my body type. She told me to call ahead and make an appointment with her next time and she will have the fitting room ready for me with dresses. I would give her a call she was really nice. -Sabrina

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
I got my gown at RK and loved the place. I heard about how crowded it gets on Saturdays so I went on a Sunday and it was not crowded at all.
The woman who helped was amazing. I told her what I was looking for and she and found at least 7 gowns that were great. She knew the inventory extremely well.
I also loved the fact that you can browse to your hearts' content without anyone bothering you.
CLOSEST THING TO A CON THAT I CAN THINK OF: There are A LOT of gowns so it helps if you do some homework before you go there. Everything is separated by designer so if you at least know the designer that you like you can go straight to their rack and look at the entire collections.
BIG PRO: every single gown is labeled with the designer name, style number and price - no one is trying to pull the wool over your eyes here.
NO APPT NECESSARY.

Re: RK Bridal Pros and Cons
Well I would recommend that you at least have an idea of what dresses you like and go to the RK website and find dress designers and model numbers. I found it REALLY overwhelming when I first when in there. I went by myself and found 5 dresses that I had preselected after MUCH digging (and those dresses are HEAVY!). Luckily the girl that helped me, I think felt bad for me and offered to help but normally I don't think that happens.
