RK BRIDAL UPDATE

So ladies as you know of my alteration issues with RK, I went there this morning I was there for 2 1/2 hours working with Diana. Every time she put a pin in something to fix, she had me take the dress off, she worked on it, brought it back out, had me put it back on and fix the next thing...

The dress needed SO MUCH more work its not even funny! For this other seamstress to have EVER let me walk out thinking the dress was fine the way it was is a TOTAL JOKE! Diana SAVED me, the dress, the day... I FINALLY feel like a bride should after their final fitting!!!!!!!! Thank GOD I fought for it, thank GOD I KNEW I was right... Diana worked VERY HARD to correct it and I appreciate her working so hard for it.

But I still stand by the fact that they are like a factory in there. The other women seemed to know what they were talking about when I seen them with other brides and I only spoke with one bride there who told me she FLIPPED OUT last time she was there because she was telling them she didnt like the waist on her dress and they kept telling her no its fine and same thing Diana came out and helped her and fixed it. She was still not too happy and was there to also continue fixing what was wrong...

There were girls there though that had no issues... So its more of a luck of who you get... Though I have to say the one thing I was VERY annoyed about is when I originally called to make my appts for my fittings, and I called in FEB for fittings in June/July I was told there were no appts at night and no weekend appts, MEANWHILE there were fittings going on the whole time I was there. So I didnt need to leave work early 3 times for fittings when its VERY hard for me to leave early and get off and stuff... So I was slightly annoyed to see that... BUT my dress is fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK GOD! She not only had to work on the top, she actually had to work on the ENTIRE DRESS!!!!!!!!! INCLUDING my bustle!!!!!!!! SUCH BS for that other woman to sit there and tell me its me... And DIana saw stuff and did stuff to the dress that this other woman would have NEVER seen! But like I said whats the point of Diana's EYE or KNOWLEDGE when shes not working on your dress...

And there was this one bride who had the ULTIMATE dress! I seriously would have gotten that dress if I saw it! OMG it was STUNNING! I was so IN LOVE with her dress! LOL It made me want to trade mine in!!!!!!!!!! And we shared the same date too... She had an AMAZING dress, wonder if she posts on here, if you do FM ME! lol ooo it totally made me drop my jaw and drool! I just kept telling her how gorgeous it was and be like OMGGGGGG where was that dress when I tried on dresses?!!!!!!!!!!!

But major disaster avoided! Now I can go back to focusing on the 100 other things I need to do and relax again and know Im going to feel beautiful the day of! =))

There was 1 girl who was a tailor, she looked young but from the sound of it she sounded like she knew what she was talking about. She was probably in her late 20's, short, brown hair, american girl.... Maybe request someone specific?

Personally just cause of what I went through I would NEVER want any girl to go through that anxiety and nervousness EVER but especially 2 weeks before...

I still say if you know a good tailor take your dress elsewhere... but thats just me cause of my bad experience and just the fact that Diana was the ONLY ONE who could think outside the box when it came to the alterations and way to help me feel and make the dress PERFECT... The unfortunate thing is shes not the one working on the dress...

AND I forgot this but I had asked them to add lace material to my straps and the attendant on her BAD day told me I had to go buy the material. When I asked Diane she said oo she shouldnt have told you that because we would have ordered it for you!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

I'm so glad it worked out for you! Was Diana the girl working on the dress?or she was taking all the measurements?

for the other RK brides: r u planning on going to your own seamstress ? If so, can you recommend ?

as of now, im still planning on doing it at RK. but i am going to be more aware and vigilent and have a loud outspoken mouth from early on

often i can be a wallflower and assume that professionals will do the job right ( i am not a micro-manager at all)...but i think in this case, you cannot assume anything.

if i knew a seamstress, i would consider that....so any recommendations would be appreciated too!!

My alterations are being done at RK by Gloria and I recommend her all the way. She is easy to work with, friendly and does good work. I am very happy with her.

EDIT - My final fitting is on friday the 17th, I got it mixed up, not on a saturday

I glad to hear that things worked out. I just got off the phone with Diana about my dress.
I have my try on appt for the end of this month and made my alteration appt back in March.

Im glad overall you had a good experience, I really loved the service, over all the other pricey boutiques.
