RK Bridal/Lestan Bridal

I got my dress and BM dresses at RK Bridal.

It is a discount shop, and the atmosphere is a little, how do you say, 'discount'. I mean don't expect plush velvet sofas in the dressing rooms.

It gets really really really crowded on Sats, I would go at 9 or 10 am when it isn't so packed. The service was pretty good, Janice helped me and she was really nice and helpful, but again, you go there for cheap prices, not necessarily the service.

They have a HUGE selection (lots for under 1k which was my budget) and they let you run wild and go through the racks, so I think it is a great place to try stuff on, even if you don't end up buying there.

There is a HUGE selection of bridesmaids dresses also.

thanks! i'm def. in the market for a sale..! So that would be a great place for me and the girls to just go and grab things.. cause thats kind of what i want to do at first.. just be able to see whatever i want to see. I've been to a couple of shops with my girlfriends where i felt like they only got to try on what the sales lady brought them.. and i HATE THAT! lol.. so maybe that will really help me choose something.. im not getting married til next nov. but wanna start look next month or so... this way i have time to pick and choose and not feel rushed :) plus i'm just super excited and have been waiting 24yrs to try on a wedding dress..lmao!!

I had the WORST experience EVER at Lestan. Seriously - i left almost in tears and frustrated to not want to try on another dress again.

I tried on 3 dresses and was told I exceeded my time limit. You're not allowed to touch the dresses - they'll bring stuff to you...

NOT fun.

It did realy stink... Seriously - after that experience, I didn't try on any more dresses for like 3 months..they soured me so badly to the whole thing!!! I eventually wound up at Bridaltown in Pennsylvania. That experience i've raved about a LOT - it was the single best experience i've had yet with wedding planning!!! :)

I had a wonderful experience at RK. We went during the week at 11:00 a.m and I felt like I had my girl's full attention (Nicole).

Also, their prices are amazing, I live in Los Angeles and went dress shopping and found my dress for $2500... then at RK it was $1025!!!!!! So I would def recommend going to RK for some good old fun.

I loved RK Bridal. Warning: The selectionis HUGE. You will do yourself a favor if you do some homework first. Have an idea of the style of dress you want. Bring some pictures with you if you have them.

Allison helped me when I was there. I showed her some pics of dresses I was interested in and knew right where to find them.

I visited both and bought my dress from Lestan. Both had a great selection of dresses and the prices were comparable. If you go to Lestan ask for Terri. Terri is fabulous. She is patient and will work with you as long as you'd like. I walked in without pictures or a clear idea of what I wanted and she stuck it out with me for about 2 hours on a Saturday.
I didn't get the call that my dress had arrived but one day I was there to look for a dress for my mom and so I went downstairs to talk to Terri. I asked her when she thought the dress would arrive...when Terri went to check she saw that my dress had arrived 2 days before and she pulled it out for me. Yes, it would have been nice to recieve the call but I didn't care at that point. I was so happy to see my very own wedding dress.

There are brides that don't have the best experience at Lestan but I have no complaints. I didn't buy from RK because I was uncomfortable with the 'off the rack' policy. A few years ago my cousin got married and we all got our dresses from Lestan. One of the dresses arrived with some stains and they got a new dress for the BM within the week. Granted you would expect that type of service at any bridal shop but I wasn't sure I would get it from RK. It's all about which you are most comfortable with. Good luck!

I am not a Lestan's bride, but I did go with another 06er to Lestans to try on her dress. They treated her poorly and their store was very messy. I never saw anything like it.

wow! im surprised
i went there at like 10 am on a sunday, when they opened

the lady that helped me was Collette and she was amazing!!
i ordered my dress from them and so far have had a fine experience

I don't recommend anybody to go there....its the worst store ever. Shopping for wedding dress should be fun but going to those places makes you and your company miserable.

I went to Lestan's and thought it was OK. I was a little depressed afterwards. I bought my dress at Lotus on Avenue U. They have a good selection of mid-priced gowns.

Do you want a boutique or a larger store?

I know you live by me, and I was on the Lower East Side today and passed by a really nice bridal boutique. Also, there is the Wedding Altiere (not spelled right) on 5th ave and like 18th street in the city.
