Re: robert moses or sunken meadow?
what time are you doing them? the sun light will be different because RM is south and SM is south.
I go to RM pretty often, I've been to SM a few times, personally I think SM is a little nicer, but RM is gorgeous in the afternoon.

we're doing them at 10am Saturday morning. I was leaning towards RM bc of the lighthouse option, but didn't even think about the sunlight issues.

Re: robert moses or sunken meadow?
I'd probably pick RM.. I live near SM and don't go there often because its a rocky beach and always crowded.. they do have a boardwalk tho which could be pretty... but I think you have much better views at RM, I'm considering taking mine there

I'd go with RM. But, just make sure you know if the photographer is planning on taking the pictures on the Fire Island National Seashore (which is where the lighthouse is), or on one of RM's fields (I believe fields 2, possibly 3, and 5 are open). If she plans on taking them on RM's field, you'll need a permit. I'm only mentioning it because I used to work there and have seen a few wedding parties, etc. get fined by the State Parks Police for not having a permit. (Just in case you need it, the number is 631.321.3515) :)

hmmm. she told us to meet at field 5 by the lighthouse. so not exactly sure what her plans are. i'd assume she would know what the procedures are though - or at least I hope she does. Do you not need a permit at the lighthouse?

Re: robert moses or sunken meadow?
I don't think you do. The lighthouse is on federal property, I'm not sure if they require anything. You may not even be bothered by the state park personnel... It all depends on their mood, really. Plus, if she is a pro, she probably already obtained the permit! I hope you enjoy it! It truly is gorgeous there!

We took our pics there and needed no permit, maybe because it was only 3 of us and not an entire wedding party?

We did ours at Sunken Meadow at like 10:00 a.m. and it was perfect weather.
