they make comments that i need to learn to cook or like if FH forgets something they say i should have remembered to pack it...its my 'job' if i am gonna be a wife
its like umm are we in the 1940s?
i see my role as just to be there for fh...love and support him! and him for me...

i agree...i am there to be his rock...to be his comforter. sure whe we start a family i will take on a more motherly role and be cooking but i have no doubt in my mind if i asked him to help out and cook and what not that he would. times have changed.

Re: role as a wife
ITA with you girls but my mother has done everything for my father and I KNOW I am going to be the same way. I also know I shouldn't be but it's hard not to.

Re: role as a wife
My role is going to be as a partner. We both take turns cooking and dishes etc. I made the mistake in my first marriage by starting to do everything for my ex and he ended up by taking advantage and did literally NOTHING . Not going to happen again

Re: role as a wife
I will never ever fit the traditional role of a wife. I dont cook or clean or any of those domestic things. I dont like to or want to. But I do manage the bills, his kids activities etc.

Re: role as a wife
i would love to be the traditional housewife but as long as i have to work everything will have to be split 50/50
My role as a wife is to be myself and keep doing what I'm doing. And be there for my FH through thick and thin...

Re: role as a wife
my FMIL gave me a cook book for xmas. I was happy but then I was like hey wait a second, this woman cooks every night and that is great and all but I love going out and take out. My role would be to be there for him, to make a home with him not for him, and spend our days being nerd and quoting lines from friends
