we recently booked an 8:00 wedding on saturday may 24th and then found out that the latest our church over here in copiague does ceremonys is 2:30 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's crazy i am refusing to stay in my gown that long or to make any of my guest who come to the curch wait that long b4 the reception starts.....................Can anyone help me with the name of a roman catholic church in their town ???? please

sorry i wish i could help ours is at 1 and cocktail at 7 .. wanted to change it to 230 (also the latest in my church) but can not because its booked.

I have the same problem sorta my ceramony is at 3 cocktail hour is at 7 so in between we are going to OWG for pic, im not gonna stress what everyone else has to do just think about what is best for you GOOD LUCK

St Jospeh's in Babylon.
My cocktail hour starts at 8:30 and our Church is at 5pm but we gotta go from babylon to mineola on a friday

Yeah, most churches don't do weddings later than 3 or so on a Saturday b/c of 5 o'clock mass. I'm pretty sure you'll find that's true with the churches you call.
If you really don't want to do that, have a ceremony at your hall.

You're going to have a problem with Churches on a saturday because most have a 5:00 Mass.
The latest our original church would do on a Saturday was noon. blech.
Our new church is awesome. Our Lady of Hope in Carle Place. I dont know how late they can do a wedding on Sat though b/c i'm almost possitive they have a 5pm mass as well.

yup, same problem... church is at 2:30 and reception at 7, although I think we are going to move the cocktail hour up to 6.

This is most likely going to me my church, but I am getting married on a friday. I don't remember if they have a 5pm mass on Saturday, but I know they have a 7pm on Saturday. You might be lucky. Give them a call.

Can you do the ceremony at your RH? A priest will do the ceremony at the RH.

I think that is what we are going to end up doing i might make it then an hour and 1/2 or a 2 hour cocktail hour so that we have enough time for pictures.

also a lot of catholic churches give parishoners priority... you or your FH has to be a member of the parish for you to get married there. my church is st. joesphs in garden city, and they'll bend the rules if your or his parents are members, but if no one has anything to do w/ st josephs, you can't be married there. The pastor said a lot of parishes are like that too
