March -- 54th & Sutton -- we got engaged there -- if you have $$$ -- (like $400 for 2) -- totally worth it.

I definitely vote for One if by Land. 21 Club is good too, but I find it a little too masculine--all steak and business deals.

If you are looking for something a little less-known with unbelievable food and a quaint, very pretty atmosphere and impeccable service:

La Mirabelle on West 86th street and Columbus. (French)

Our absolute favorite restaurant. We live in MD now but actaully drive back to NYC just to spend all of our special occassions there.

(and we LOVE good food & are VERY critical)

FH and I love River Cafe. It isn't it Manhattan, it is right under the Brooklyn Bridge in Brooklyn and has an amazing view of the city. It is a beautiful place and very romantic. Here is the site: River Cafe Last time FH and I went there in December I was convinced he was going to propose that night...but he didn't!!! I am glad now because I was expecting it that night, he just seemed to be acting strange (guess he was just strange ) and when he did propose a month later in the city he caught me off guard so it was better...I like being surprised! It is a beautiful place..take a look!

There is a very small yet supposed to be romantic restaurant on upper west side. I don't know the name. I girl I used to be friends with went there on her anniversary and told me that it's only got 9 tables. I think it's Italian too. Maybe if anyone recognizes it from what I wrote they can tell you the name of it. I don't talk to her anymore so I can't find out for you, sorry.
