romantic weekend getaways

Looking to do a getaway in the summer... 2 couples.. we go with 2 of our best friends.. who are newlyweds---last year it wasn't necessarily romantic but it was great fun.. we did Atlantic city and Great Adventure..

We are looking to go somewhere again.. not toooo far of a drive..... 3-4 hours at max...... and something fun and different...

Any suggestions ladies?

FH and I went to Lancaster, PA last summer. We stayed at the After 8 B&B and had a really nice time. The owner is very friendly and serves the most wonderful, filling breakfasts. We also took a hot air balloon ride our last morning there. We had to wake up at the crack of dawn, but it was soooooooo worth it!

We went to Cooperstown (baseball hall of fame) one year for Valentine's Day... there are a ton of adorable bed and breakfasts, great outdoor activities and lots of good restaurants.

That is also an excellent suggestion. I guarantee it would be hard to get a place in Montauk right now. It books so fast at every hotel!

i was going too suggest cooperstown also. we went in january while things were closed down for winter and it was still beautiful and romatic. the town comes alive during the summer. i was also going to suggest one of those waterfront cabins on lake george, but that's more like 5 hours away.
