Jus wondering if you would be able to recommend hotels in either barcelona or rome?!?! as well as things to do..thank you.

I lived in Rome for 6 months.
When my FH's parents visited, we all stayed at the 'Aleph.' It's a Boscolo Luxury Hotel. It was a very unique, modern hotel; it had a good and evil theme. It was really beautiful! Great location - within walking distance to the major sites.
Most of the popular hotels are by the Spanish Steps.
Restaurant recommendation: Ciao Bella - it's right near Aleph. The restaurant is on the middle of the street (literally), encased in glass. It looks like a snow globe. The food was amazing. It's a good place to 'people watch.'
