Room Block at Red Roof Inn, Westbury

I am getting married July 4, 2003, and decided to start calling on room blocks. (I am pretty anal, and have this compulsion to get things done as soon as I can.)

I called the Red Roof Inn about their hotel in Westbury, and was able to lock in at the 'Introductory Rate' of $114.99 for 7/4 - 7/5/03. The rates are slated to go up, but since the hotel is still new, I got in with the cheaper rate. The number to block rooms is 1-800-874-9000. They don't make you pay for rooms not used or leave a credit card number to make the block.

Just thought I'd share the info, in case anyone else is looking to clock rooms in Nassau.

I need to block out rooms. If you don't need to put down a cc how do you know if they are holding them for your guest?

They just hold the block of rooms in the name of your event (ie - Doe - Jones Wedding.)

30 days before your wedding, the rooms that aren't booked are released, and your guests don't get the discounted rate. But you are not financially responsible for the rooms.

I have also blocked off Rooms at Red Roof and I got an intro rate of $104.99. BUT, advise your guests to check rates online first, because as of last week there were rates available for $85 a night! I called the group reservation number and they cannot offer a lower rate than they have already given me. So it's good to hold the rooms with the group rate to ensure your guests have a place to stay, but if they do decide on the Red Roof have them check the rates online. Chances are they will be cheaper!
