Room Block Issue - Resolved!... Courtyard Marriot Farmingdale girls read!

So my SIL calls me last night to tell me that she just tried to book a room for the night of the wedding and was told there were no more King Beds left under the room block but that there are some available for the next day.

2 problems with this:

1) I did not know that there were a certain # of Kings and Queens under the block

2) I did not block rooms for the day AFTER the wedding.

So, I try to use the online links to book and I got the same message - no kings available.

So this morning, I also find out that the girl I was originally dealing with (and who I emailed last night about the issue) is no longer working with Group Sales and that I have a new contact person... fine. I then email the new contact person the issue and leave a voicemail.

She gets back to me this morning and apparantly, whoever set up our room block in the system did it totally wrong. They only blocked like 4 rooms the night of the wedding and then 2 the day after and there was only 2 kings available and yadda yadda yadda. I told her that is so not what we originally blocked. She agreed that something went totally wrong and she fixed everything up for me with no problem - assuring there were enought King rooms in our block.

So as of right now, we have 6 rooms out of the 10 we need booked to get the free shuttle!

Just thought I'd give a head's up to any girls using the Courtyard Marriot in Farmingdale - make sure you call to double check that your room block is the way you initially set it up. And ask for Randi when you call - she was extremely sweet and helpful through the whole process!

it's weird - I actualyl got an email a few weeks ago with an update of my bookings... thats when I noticed that they block x number of kings and x number of queens... i thought that was weird. did they chagned yours to jstu 10 general rooms? or is there still a certain number of kings and queens in the block?

dont forget to keep calling and checking to see if its all full so they can open more and maybe you will get 15 rooms booked and get a free room! (or put it towards bridal suite! :)

yeah it's so weird. As of right now under our block, we have 9 Kings, 2 Queens and 1 Bridal Suite blocked and out of that we have 4 Kings, 1 Queen, and 1 Bridal Suite booked (total of 6).

So I guess if someone else books a Queen room I am going to have to call to add more. I think it's just so stupid because you should me able to request what you want when you booked. I would also hope that they would just make an executive decision to add more of a certain kind of room when they run out. I guess I am just going to have to keep on them.

I got that email too last week giving me an update but I didn't notice what was blocked of each. I'll check again.

About the bridal suite though - I did call up and reserve that room for us already but if we do happen to hit 15 rooms (which I am sure we are), do you think they would take some money off the bridal suite? I didn't even ask that. I figure i'll mention it when the time comes.
