Room Block Question - Help!!

Room Block Question - Help!!

We reserved a block of rooms at the Best Western in Riverhead for the night of our wedding.

10 out of 15 rooms are already booked by immediate family. The hotel is entirely booked up for the night, so I can't add any more rooms to my block.

I was going to put inserts in with my invites reminding our guests about the room block at the Best Western. (We included this info with our STDs).

But with only 5 rooms available and no chance of adding to the block, should I exclude the info regarding Best Western in my invites? Will it just look bad if I include the info and then people call and find out there are no rooms left???

Could you possibly book rooms at another hotel?

We could, but that hotel is the closest to East Wind.

That's a good alternative solution though. I will mention it to FH. Thanks!

I would definitely try to block rooms at another hotel, even if it is a little further away.

Honestly, if close family and friends have already secured their rooms, do not include it at this point. I didn't announce the room block with my STDs so I'm puting them in with my invites. But if you already announced them, I think it's fine. If peope call you and ask for local accomodations, you can tell them by word of mouth.

The Holiday Inn Express is brand new and only a mile away from the Best Western.

I got married out in the North Fork and we also blocked rooms at the Hampton Inn in Farmingville in addition to the Best Western at Riverhead. They were really nice and very helpful.

You should try The Holiday Inn Express East End (631) 548-1000 or a smaller hotel, but clean, The Country Inn (Jamesport) (631) 722-4024. I am using both hotels for my wedding. I had the same problem.
