Our priest said we could lay a bouquet of roses at Mary's statue in memory of loved ones and then give our mom's a single rose as part of a 'rose ceremony'. Can someone explain this to me a little better...I want to write the correct explanation in the program. Do we walk over to Mary's statue during the ceremony and place them or does the priest?

Re: Rose ceremony instead of memory candle....
I am doing both the rose ceremony and the memory candle. ETA: At my church, I will walk over with the roses joined by my mother and the priest will come along to say a short prayer.

Re: Rose ceremony instead of memory candle....
Hey Girlie! Your big day is coming!
In either ceremony (rose or candle) you walk over. Most people have ave maria play when they leave roses at Mary's feet and give a rose to the mothers. No particular song is played during the memory candle ceremony, you just go over and light it.
I would write that you are performing the ceremony in memory of all those that could not be with you. They are with you in spirit and your thoughts are with them....that kind of thing. Hope it helps!
