did you girls call your church to find out if Rose Petals can be thrown outside? as well as inside?

mine wont allow either says the oils in the petals can cause someone to slip- honestly i really dont understand that

My Church gave us a book when we set the date and it had a bunch of different things in it, including rules about throwing stuff outside...It said its not encouraged, or something like that, but we are still doing it because it didn't say it wasn't allowed....and it didn't say anything about inside, so we're using petals down the aisle....

they told me to 'go lightly' on the petals. Little do they know Im having tons Im using mostly fake ones, with a few real ones mixed in....so no one trips on them. They said that the real ones get smushed and are a pain to clean up.

if they say no and you want to do rice acmoore and michaels sells heart shaped rice...its easy to clean up, its bird safe and as soon as water hits it....it melts!! so you dont have to worry about it!

it can be slippery actually. Its like when you crush it or break it, youll notice oils in it. If somebody has on slippery shoes and steps on rose petals it is possible to slip. If people are careful im sure they'll be fine. Some churches also dont allow it because it can stain their carpets or floors

my church says no. but there is a pic my photographer does where everyone throws petals and he makes the petals colored in a black and white pic. so i am have my bridal party throw petals at the pic location instead of at church. we will do bubbles at church.

I can have then outside. Inside the FG can drop some rose pedals but they have to be artifical. Inside and outside.

girls just please be careful with bubbles especailly if any of your dresses are taffeta!!!!!!!
i have heard as well as seen of what bubbles can do to dresses!!! my friends wedding all her BMs had spots all over the dresses!!!!!!!!!!!!

My church actually gave me a little pamphlet and they have a nice list of what's not allowed and not 'recommended'... no petals or rice allowed anywhere. again, cuz they think ppl will slip on the petals...

Mine allows petal on the outside only....and i think only real petals b/c the fake ones would have to be cleaned up....the real ones are okay to leave

My church said the same thing, we can only use bubbles or designer rice.

Mine says birdseed only. I am doing real petals anyway -- i look at it this way I am getting married in Nov. One gust of wind and they will blend in with the falling leaves!
If my neice feels likes throwing them down the aisle then I will have them -- they have to pick up the runner a the end anyway and how much damage can a 3 year old do throwing petals!

Yes, our church said we could do basically anything. However, we were given an envelope to give a tip to the person who has to clean it up.
