Royal Hideaway Playacar or Paradisus Punta Cana?

For those of you who have gone or have decided to HM there please give your opinons. We can't decide between the two.

i went to my friends wedding last may at paradisus and it was beautiful!!! they have romantic restaurants and there werent that many kids ( i hardly saw any) i loved it i want to go back again! the service was incredible...i cant say enough about the place!

I am going to Royal Hideaway for my HM and have heard nothing but amazing things from every bride I spoke to that has gone there and Travel Agents.

I haven't been to either place but I have been doing research on both for vacation and for our honeymoon. I know the Paradisus is suppose to be beautiful but there are a couple of different paradisus. I think the 'Palma Real' (not sure of spelling) is suppose to be the nicest.
As for the Royal Hideaway, FH and I really wanted to go there. It is suppose to be super luxurious and from the website looks beautiful. If you go to tripadvisor.com they mention that it is a more laid back resort. FH and I decided against it because of the giant 'sand bags' they put in on the beach. They are 30 ft across and are there to stop the sand erosion on the beach. If you look at the pictures on tripadvisor.com you can see how big they are. FH and I are beach people (as opposed to pool people) so we felt that it was too much money for a beach that will be hard to use and not so pretty. BUT supposedly they are taking out the sand bags and fixing the beach in March. I've been trying to find out if the fixed it yet.
