that company is so silly, they so could have tricked me into going out there after my showcase when I 'WON..' lol there raffle.. But they told me I wouldn't get anything or even be able to go without Joe. And well Joe's in the AF so we couldn't go that weekend...

lol, there ears must have been ringing when I wrote above. B/c they just called me again.. The same speal, free film, free trip, prizes when we come and ' they will even cook for us!' (WOW.. lol)
and how I was one of the only 5 brides in Nassau County that were picked and how I had to come this weekend! And even though it's no obligation and prices when you arrive. I told the lady how suprised I was that I was in the top 5 again for Nassau in just this year and like I told them before my FI is in the AF and can't make it. So, naturally I was told I would be put on a hold status and my prizes wouldn't be given to anyone else..
What bull! There so funny, it's located in Huntington and they had the same speal and last time.. I guess they know about the ABC story and changed there name!
LoL.. So good luck to any of the other brides that won!!

Two years ago, it was 21st Century Concepts that called me. Royal Prestige is the cookware they sell. They also sell other things too .. like china and silverware. Are 21st Century Concepts and Royal Prestige really one in the same? Or is 21st Century Concepts just the outlet to the public for the product?
what bull is right, they called me like three times, after I told them my fiancee will not go, they said we both had too, by the third time... I told them I had told them I wasnt interested they keep calling and telling everyone the same thing and this ANNA from the bridal something in queens has called me about four times.... they should keep track of who they call.... it gets annoying, I am sorry I entered that contest here that is how they all get your number!!
Isn`t there some kind of law that when you tell a telemarketer to remove your number from their phone list, they must do so? I don`t know the exact specifics, but there definitely is some law to that effect. Next time good `ol 'Anna' calls, tell her she`s already called you and you`ve asked her to stop. Tell her this is the last time you will ask her to stop calling, and make it clear you want your name removed from their call list, and continue on by saying if she calls again, you will contact an attorney.
I work in the direct marketing industry, so I know for a fact that the laws are VERY strict in this regard. If you tell a company once that you want to be removed from their list, they must. If they call you again, you can report them to NY State or the Direct Marketing Association, where they will be fined.
You can also be proactive and remove yourself from telephone, direct mail and e-mail lists before they start to call you through the Direct Marketing Association. http://www.the-dma.org/consumers/consumerassistance.html
I just want to note that all companies that are members of The DMA must use these lists or face stiff fines and being kicked out (a big deal in the industry). All of the up and up companies (major catalogers, e-tailers, etc.) are members.
Shady companies tend not to join, so they don't have to use this list. They DO have to use the state lists, or face fines and legal prosecution within each state. Here is the link to the NY State do not call registry. (There is no state direct mail or e-mail list that I am aware of.) http://www.consumer.state.ny.us/dnchome.htm
I am on this list and in the last (almost) 2 years...I have received only 2 calls that did not fit into the category of people that are allowed to call you (religious organizations, political candidates, companies you have inquired about, companies that you have done business with in the last 18 months)
Both calls were from Body Heat...both times I took their name and # and then proceded to tell them that I am on the NYS do not call list and I am going to report them and they will be fined $2000.
Well they got all nervous and said, well we got your name from the Thatched Cottage...(I only went to look at the Thatched Cottage) needless to say...they have stopped...its really great to get a call and think it will be a friend NOT a telemarketer...
good luck to all.
thanks
