I went to tour the Royalton and really liked it. However, I was shocked when he told me at the end of the tour that I was required to use two florists, which on further research, seem to be much higher priced than others. Does anyone have any experience with this with the Royalton? I feel like its a bit shady to enter these exclusive deals in order to get a kick-back, and I am worried about booking the venue and then getting slammed with florist costs, especially since the venue is already on the high end.
Any advice is much appreciated!

Re: royalton?
My sister got married there in Feb. She paid the vendor waiver fee (which I believe was $1500) to be able to use the florist of her choice. Even with paying the fee, it was less expensive to go with a different florist.

Re: royalton?
I don't know why you assume there is something shady going on because they use 2 florists. Some places want quality and reliability rather then let anyone in the building. If you ask them they might have a sound reason behind it, whether you like the answer or not. I do know they make some exceptions, but some florists are banned no matter what do to certain florists 'shady practices'! If you really love the place maybe you should hear them out, before you start making your first post a negative one or is something shady going on here.

Re: royalton?
My best friend got married there this summer and the wedding was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious and the room was stunning. She was annoyed about the florist thing too but since she loved the place she just agreed to it. She used S & P and wasn't thrilled - they caused her a lot of stress the week before the wedding. The centerpieces turned out to be beautiful but she wasn't happy with the bouquets. They were a lot smaller than she expected. It's annoying that she was forced to use them.

Re: royalton?
to be honest, i felt like that was a major drawback as well, since i probably wouldn't have normally picked either of those florists otherwise... however, i just loved the Royalton so much more than any of the other places we saw, and felt that it was so perfect, that in the end, it didn't matter to me that we could only choose from those two florists. i have booked with S&P, but am kind of still in the process of negotiating my design aesthetic with them, so we'll see how it goes come June...! i wouldn't let that hold you back from booking with them, if you really love it there, though!
