I'm just thinking about who you plan on tipping at the Royalton. I know gratuity is included, but do we still tip wait staff, bartenders, valet drivers, Gerard/Mike T on top of that? Let me know what you plan on doing.

I think the valet tip is already included and so is the matre d. You could give additional tips on top of that. But I think they charged $500 for the matre d tip.

Hi Girls -
I'm getting married at the Royalton a week from Saturday so we've kind of decided tips but things may change. Here's what we're doing.
When you get your final invoice, you'll see that the Royalton charges an extra $800 (!!!) which is meant to be tips for Gerard, Mike, the bridal attendant and the vallets. They also charge that per person service charge that is meant to be tips for the waitstaff, busboys and bartenders. We don't plan on tipping any extra on top of that!
As for non-Royalton vendors, we plan to tip our photog, videographer, band members (no clue how much) and the florist delivery guys. We're not going to tip the other vendors b/c they work for themselves and get 100% of their profits. At this point and this economy, it's just hard to justify any extra tips.

I sure hope they don't expect additional tips on top of what is already charged! I would have hoped that the $800 'executive gratuity fee' would have been in place of the anticipated tip at the end. Otherwise, I would assume that limos you would tip, and any other vendors that are like a larger company (not self-owned). It's annoying to think about the fact that you need to be bothered w/ these things when you're just supposed to be enjoying your special day! More things to think about!!!

Thanks girls. Yeah, we just did our final headcount and total and there is more than enough gratuity included in there already. Yikes!!!

Honestly Erin, I would have $100 on you to give your bridal attendant just from you, no matter what they charge you as their gratuity fee. If you don't feel she deserves it, don't give it, but have it, that's what I did. I don't know about the $800 'exec fee' or whatever because my dad paid the final invoice. For all I know it was or wasn't on there. Aside from that DH and I gave $1000 to Gerard to give out to the staff, and I gave Faviola (my attendant) $100 just from me because she was AMAZING. I felt she really deserved it, on top of whatever cut she gets from anything else. That's just me though, I'm a big tipper for great service.
