Hi all--I'm a new Royalton Bride currently trying to figure out the color scheme for my wedding. DId anyone have or have you seen the ballroom with dark tablecloths? I was thinking either raisin or black.
I love the look of candles on a dark tablecloth, which are part of my centerpiece. Any idea how it will contrast since the room is so white?

No sorry...mine was off white. I think for a day wedding the lighter colors are better with that room....nighttime would be nice with the darker colors.

those of you using white linens, is your dress white?
My dress is Ivory and my friend said don't do white linens because it makes the dress look 'dirty'
Any comments?

I agree mines at night, I think the room looks georgous no matter what but just thinking about adding a little color. I've been to a few wedding where dark linens looked great but just trying to picture it at the royalton.

No, nothing with the Royalton at all really.
I'm a teacher so I'm trying to get most things done before I go back to work. I've had all summer to do it. The only thing I still don't have is a videographers, I can just use my photographer if I want.
I don't think you do the menu until very close to the wedding date. As a matter of fact, we want to go back and see the Royalton again. My FH only saw it the first time we went there for a very brief time and then I took both our familes back when we booked it but he was working.

I've never heard this before. My dress was white, and I had ivory linens...it was totally fine. I doubt anyone was looking at me going, wow, her dress doesnt match her tablecloths!
ALTHOUGH I did have some concerns because I had white flowers with ivory linens, but it wasnt even noticeable.

yea Stacy I hear your concerns...i am student teaching in the fall s well as continuing to work retail un til christmas but my big day is 12/7...im crazy!!!! i spoke with gerard and he said I could stop in on any given day to see it set up or just to pop in to get ideas...im going for my tasting in Oct with Gerard and he said then I can pick linens and finalize everything although I already had him put in my file what I wanted....the menu is my biggest concern...can i possibly think of 15-20 apps to be passed as well as 5-6 stations and a signature drink!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Any suggestions from you or other royalton brides would be great....i am jewish and my FH is german and irish!!!!!!!!

10-15 HD's well a must is pigs in the blanket no matter how fancy the wedding is and also baby lamb chops.
As far as stations goes, I know I want Peeking Duck and a lot of people I hear are doing a slider station with all mini burgers, veggie burgers, tuna, etc with all toppings.
I'm sure Gerard will be able to give you plenty of ideas. I kept all the menus I got when I was looking at all the other places for ideas.

Oh, and as far as the dress goes, nothing wrong with wearing white against Ivory linens, it will make the dress appear really white. It is the other way around white linens with an Ivory dress. It is just something I was told.
I am also doing white flowers but I think I'm going to do Ivory linens.
And if FH will agree with me, I might have them wear black tuxes with Ivory vests and tie and white shirts.
