Does anyone know anything about the status of the constuction at the Royalton? The last time I was there, in January, one of the managers mentioned that they were going to be making the ballroom larger. At first I freaked a little, but he assured me that they would not be changing 'the look' of the room and that it would be done before August (when I'm getting married). I suppose I should just call or visit, but I was wondering if anyone has heard or seen if they have started that project yet or possibly even finished?? Thanks for your help!

Actually, yes, we did hear about this, but we were told it was going to be completed in April. They are extending the ballroom to make more room for the area where bands play. It will actually make more room for dancing.
I don't think there's anything to be concerned about - in fact, I think it will be a good thing!

Okay...I just called today, and they said they were going to start in a few weeks and that it would be done within a week of the start date. He said they're really only adding a space for the band. I'm sure it will look great and obviously it will create a little more space for dancing. I'll still be curious to see what it looks like it when it's completed though.

I was there in mid Feb to show my future in-laws the place and at that time they still had not begun the construction. Basically what they are doing is adding a 15x8 bump out in the ball room. It will be straight back from the main entrance and will be where they DJ/Bands will go. It should be a good thing.. it will expand the dance floor.
@ the time of my visit they were still waiting on permits.. If I were getting married in April & May I would be making a phone call to the ASAP.
