Royalton Questions

Original post by agchunk

For all my Royalton brides...I went to go look at invitations yesterday and now I'm trying to decide how many inserts I ABSOLUTELY need. Does the Royalton give you direction cards to put in your invitations? If so, anyone have a picture of what they look like? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, the Royalton does not make our menus, we do them ourselves? Last, does the Royalton provide table numbers or do we do those ourselves as well? If you have any picturse of table numbers or menus I would love to see them! Thanks for all your help!

Re: Royalton Questions

They do two weddings on Sunday. If we wanted an evening wedding it wouldn't start until 6:30 on Sunday and we felt that was too late, so for a few extra bucks, we got the place for the whole day so we're starting at 5:00

I don't have any bm's so the only people getting done are me, mom and sister. I have one person coming for hair and one for makeup. I was told by my photographer to be ready to see FH around 1:30 but my hairgirl told my mom she had to be ready too because they take pics of the mother zipping up the bride in her dress, etc. So I pushed my hair off to 10 and trying to get makeup starting at 11.

What is nice is that we have the whole place to ourselves so hopefully it won't be too hectic.

Good idea about asking for CH food. I definitly want to be able to taste it. I also want all pics done before ceremony so we have until 4:30 to get it done.

Wish I could see your pics Allegra but at work, they don't show for some reason. I'll check again when I get home.

Oh keep forgetting to ask you, where did you put the slipper basket, I'm really thinking about keeping it in the bathroom. I only have one basket and it will need to be refilled. i figured the bathroom attendant can do that. Any other advice for me?

Re: Royalton Questions

That's a really great idea to spend a little extra money (what's a little more at this point, right?!) to get the place for the whole day. Did you have to have a high guarantee number? The pp price for Saturday day was like $20 less than Sunday day, that's why we decided to go w/ Saturday... even though ideally we liked Sunday better (because it's the 13th - and that's a lucky day for us!) but oh well.

I forgot to ask everyone - if you had your ceremony at the Royalton - when did you do your rehearsal??? Gerard said that they like to do the rehearsal actually the hour before the ceremony starts, but that kind of freaks me out b/c I don't like leaving things til last minute. ?!?

Re: Royalton Questions

Saturday is way more expensive than a sunday if you are talking about evening. I think I was first quoted $135 for sunday eve and $165 for twighlight (if I remember correctly) that was before negotiating.

We guaranteed 200 which is exactly where we are at as of now.

I believe my rehearsal will be at 4:30 1/2 hour before guests arrive. there really isn't much to rehearse except walk dow the aisle and stand here. All the weddings I have ever been in do the rehearsal a few minutes before the guests arrive it's really not a big deal

Re: Royalton Questions

yea see, we are doing Saturday during the day (not nighttime). We were quoted $120 pp for Saturday during the day and $140 pp for Sunday day or Sunday night. We are doing a guarantee of 125 people, which we will be lucky if we even make that!! I think that is why.. you need the higher guarantee to take up the whole day. There is no way they would do only 1 wedding on a day for a smaller party like mine. I'm just glad we were able to find a really nice place even though we don't have a lot of people.

Hi Girls!

Allegra those pictures are gorgeous! We're going to do the same thing and see each other before the ceremony. I really want to attend the CH and be with our guests as much as possible.

As for the 2 weddings a day thing, we're getting married on a Saturday evening but luckily there is no other wedding that day so we will have the whole place to ourselves!!

Stacy I'm so excited to hear about your wedding. I hope the weather holds out for you. This month of rain is KILLING ME. FH keeps telling me not to worry but I'm convinced it will be a rain storm on 7/11 and we won't get to use the gorgeous garden!

On a random note, it's soooo crazy how much Gerard works. The poor guy seems to be at the Royalton 24/7. How does he do it??

I have thought about this (the fact that Gerard is always there) and wondered how he stays in such high spirits.

For the gals talking about two weddings in a day on Saturday, I wonder if this is something new because when we booked we were told they only do one wedding a day. It is one of the reasons we went with the Royalton. Hopefully this is still the case because I have a whole day planned!

did you do pictures with FH before the ceremony? i don't want him to see me until i'm coming down the aisle! plus i only have 2 BMs and my mom. so hopefully it won't take TOO long... otherwise we're going to need to get there at like 5 am!!!

We did a bunch of pictures before the ceremony. We had our special reveal moment and it was amazing!!!!!! Just the two of us. He watched me walk down the stairs to him and he met me halfway. We did bunch of pics after the ceremony as well because we were running late. We missed the CH but it was all good. I should have asked for passed hors d'oeuvres to be put in the bridal suite though! I barely tried one!

Here's our first meeting!

Legs!!! I SO KNEW that was your first meeting when Is saw these pics!! I could tell by the way Mike looked at you and hugged you. Sooo friggin adorable!! LOVE IT!!!!

Oh and Allegra - just wanted to add that you will be able to see the CH hour and eat the food! You have a 2nd time coming around that you get to hang out at the royalton for!!! YAY!! So you guys can eat all the CH food you missed on your day!!! I'm definately having at least 2 of your hordorves that you had too!! They were YUMMY!!!!

We are not seeing eachother before the wedding. But for us it's different because we are getting married at a church. So his first time seeing me will be as I walk down the aisle. Pictures will be after that at the Royalton. Then the CH starts. We actually have plenty of time between the ceremony and the CH for pictures.... BUT I am choosing to NOT attend the CH. One of the many reasons I loved the royalton was becuase they had so many, very large and nice suites upstairs! I REALLY wanted to not attend the CH so I can have a little private time with the bridal party, close family and DH!!! I figure it will be the calm before all the madness begins! So we purposely decided to not attend. Gerard said they can bring whatever foods we want up to the suites for us. I'm also thinking... it might be the only chance we get to eat all night!!! So many brides don't end up eating on their wedding day!

Oh and I'm soooo incredibly JEALOUS of all you girls who GET TO GET READY there!!!! Because the church is near my house and where I will be getting ready.... it just doesn't make any sense to get ready there. SO SAD!!! I wish I could swing it but it would be too difficult and kinda dumb for me to do! But I WISH!!!!

Just call Gerard or whoever you booked with and ask about that.

I think they told me that on Friday's they do one wedding and Sundays too I believe. Saturday they can do a day wedding and a night wedding. it all depends.

We have opposite problems!! I guaranteed 200 and so far there is approx 250 on my list!!!!!!!!! I'm HOPING it ends up being closer to 200. I don't want it to feel overcrowded in there and less people = less money!! hahaha!
But LEGS you and Mike so HAVE TO COME!!!!!!!!!!

They have amazing food and service. I dont know anything about this place just that it is beautiful. Has anyone tried the food or know if there is enough of it?

Thanks!!!!

The Royalton's food is AMAZING!!! SOOOO GOOD!!! the CH, the dessert, ALL of it!!! There was definately enough of it too!

Re: Royalton Questions

so, apparently the Royalton gives out your number to all of their preferred vendors. because i have been getting random calls all week from vendors that i am not interested in, therefore never contacted. does anyone else find this super annoying???

I don't think I got a lot of calls, only from 'EJ the DJ'. I told them I had my DJ already and that was that. Oh and the limo company may have called, but we didn't get limos so I just said we weren't doing limos. It was annoying, but not as annoying as the LIW vendors calling

ooh, i haven't gotten any calls from LIW vendors yet... that's definitely something to watch out for! so much for privacy of your contact information
