I went to a Sweet 16 at the Garden City Hotel, so my review of an event from 10 years ago that I remember vaguely wouldn't be helpful, haha.

BUT, FSIL got married 3 years ago at the Royalton and the place is GORGEOUS! FMIL has never said a single bad thing about them, so I think you would be in great hands if you went with them. Good luck!

I've heard nothing but great things about the Royalton (but I'm biased :) I've heard good things about the Garden City Hotel, but nothing that blew me away. What are some other things that are important to you for your wedding? Having only one wedding at a time was most important to me, so I didn't even consider the Garden City Hotel. You could always do your room block or shower at the Garden City Hotel and have the best of both worlds :)

all i really want is a great experience for my guests (and me of course but i really want to make sure my guests have a great time). i want the best food and best service. i know GCH has a beautiful ballroom and a great reputation but i have never been to an event there and am concerned that the new management will carry out everything as before. i've been to a wedding at the royalton and it was lovely but that was in the summer and they really made use of the outdoors. my wedding will be in a winter month and i won't really have that option.

I have been to the GC Hotel for a few events (I am from Garden City so it has been a popular place for events throughout my life). Every time I have been there it has been fabulous! Everything is very high end. I know they are under new management, but I am sure they will maintian the high standards!

NWR, but have you ever done the Sunday brunch there?!?!?! amazingggggg

I got married in 2010 and haven't been on here for a long, long time but I was doing some research for a friend and came across this post.

My wedding was at the GCH and it couldn't have been better. Check out my review if you'd like. On the other hand, my friend got married at the Royalton in October of 2011 and I was her MOH and I loved it, too. They are very different - GCH is more glitzy I'd say while the Royalton is a bit more subdued but very elegant and everything was wonderful. Both have fantastic food, service, etc. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong with either.

I have recently gone to weddings at both places and I was much more impressed by the Royalton. I also thought the food was better at the Royalton

I've never been to an event at the GCH but a close friend of mine is getting married at Royalton in the beginning of August. Her FSIL got married there three years ago and she loved the wedding so much that she decided to have it there as well. So far she has had nothing but great things to say about it!

I understand the GCH is under new ownership now so I don't know if a wedding now would be what it was three years ago.
