Has anyone heard of using dance shoes (the ones the professional dancers wear for competitions) to weddings?

Our dance instructor said the ones I bought for the wedding will work for our first dance.
Do you mean you want the style of a dance shoe or that you want to wear a dance shoe for your first dance?

Well I'll have 2 pairs of shoes...one for the ceremony, and for the reception I am buying dance shoes. They are usually very comfy and flexible, and the heel is usually more supportive.

well I got them in Germany, so probably no help, but just do a search or something for stores in your area that sell dance shoes.
