That wants to minimize the slow dancing at the wedding. I seriously hate slow songs at events b/c I remember when I was single and felt akward as everyone else was on the dance floor, and I sat with my lonely self. I really just don't like them, and we're trying to come up with a way to incorporate all those traditions of mom/son, father/daughter dances in another way besides a dance....

Re: RP (BHB): Am I the ONLY ONE?
I was thinking about it only because I dont want anyone else dancing to our song - So I would have them fade into something else so all our guest can join us

I agree I'm not into the whole slow song thing, I'm going to keep to about 2 or 3 slow songs tops

I have to agree with you about the slow songs.
My ex-boyfriend and I had just broken up the night before my cousins wedding. I had to go alone and sit at a table full of couples and watch them dance with other each while I just sat there wishing god would put me out of my misery right there.
So that is why there will only be a few slow songs and I have done away with the father/daughter and the son/mom dances.

i totally agree on the not so many slow songs. The only slow songs i want are for our first song, me/dad and FI/mom and 3 tops after that the rest of the night. its a celebration, i want people to dance not shuffle or sit by themselves if they don't have anyone to dance with.

I'm very tradtional so I love to slow dance, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

Do you think there will be people at your wedding who are with their wives, husbands, Sos that would like to dance to slow songs? Not a lot of them, but maybe a few select ones? I know I would like to dance to one or two at a wedding with my husband.

In my experience, there are people who are uncomfortable in dancing to 'fast' songs, but are more apt to dance to slow songs.. I think there should be both.. IMO, I don't think 2 or 3 is enough.

Yea, I always hated being single during the slow songs but at a wedding it's kinda expected a lil more. If you're single you can always make that the break you need to freshen up or grab a drink. Besides weddings are a great place to meet others that are also eligible, you never know where someone might meet their FH/FW. I can see you minimizing the # but I'd say there should be more than 2 or 3. Tho it's your wedding, so you can really do whatever you want.
