RP BHB: Are you having a Viennese hour or something similar?
I want to have it because FH's family is italian and I feel like they'll be expecting it. But FH doesn't want to spend the extra money and if we did have one then the reception wouldn't end until 1:30am! He feels no one will stay that late so it's a waste. I'm thinking of doing maybe just the extra dessert plates but I think FH's family will think we're cheap.
What about you girls?

I posted on the BHB, but we're just doing the chocolate fondue station b/c we didn't want to pay a bundle, but wanted our guests to have a little something - besides - it will be the first time I can gorge myself since I got engaged!!!!!!

We are having the Full Vienesse hour. I'm actually looking forward to it. That was one thing that I really wanted. Even though people say it's a waste of money and everyone is so full. I always wanted it so I'm having it. My Family as well as FH's family are Italian. Alot of FH's family are from Italy. They are Real Italianos. lol I think they will enjoy it!

my FSIL had the viennese hour and it was such a waste. Everyone was so full from dinner and there was SO many desserts. I love chocolate and i love dessert, but i couldn't touch a thing and that says a lot! And i remember the viennese being expensive. Like an extra $7 per person or something.
If i were you, i'd save your money.

We are having the choc fountain and CLM provides pastries on each table in addition to the wedding cake.

i posted my reply on bhb also, but we are having the wedding cake and instead of an additional dessert, we are having a viennese platter on each table, that should be plenty, we are also having the cordials in chocolate cups....mmmmm

i voted yes with a but. my hall does not offer the full vienesse hour, but i went on friday to p/u direction cards and talk to the bm about the cake. he gave me the bakerys card and told me that i can add pastries and desserts if i wanted to. out of my pocket, but i think its worth it.
so not a ful viennese hour, but more then just cake for dessert

I know exactly why he feels like that. I'm Italian too! But to be honest the last wedding I went to that had it , it wasn't that good. We are not having it. Just pastries on the tables and a dessert trio. Add maybe a little something-but there is no need for it if you ask me.
