FH is divorced so I know we cannot hold the ceremony in a Catholic church...what types of churches allow 2nd marriages?? I am so clueless about this and we need to figure it out so we can book it! Thank you so much!!!!

Did he get married in the church the first time? Just because he's divorced according to the state doesn't necessarily mean you can't get married in the church. Can you have his marriage annulled?

Annullments take a while. Depends upon what the Diocese says.
If you want to marry in a church, Lutheran churches allow for divorced people to marry. Another option would be to be married at the RH by an officiant. FH and I are doing that, he is Jewish and I am Lutheran.

Yea...we're going to have to talk about that..
Just as an FYI, we went through the annulment process and if it is uncontested it takes approx. one year.... it is long and arduous, but worth it in the end..... we chose to marry at the reception hall with an officiant and then to go back once the annulment came in, to the church and had a small ceremony with our close families and a dinner at Tellers afterwards... the historical chapel (I thinkits huntington?) will allow it. They have no rulles regarding that.

A lot of protestant, Lutheran, etc. churches allow second marriages. Years ago when my brother remarried he had the ceremony in Protestant church and it was beautiful. Check around you just may find one that will marry you. Good Luck!
