RP from 06: Please inspect your registry items!

I thought I would just share with everyone, if you receive any registry item that you plan to STORE, take the time to open each box and inspect it!

Last night, FH and I went to pick up our china at Fortunoff and I started going through the boxes and a full box that had my china's label on the outside had four sets of a different place setting on the inside! It was obviously a slip up on the manufacturer's part, but I now have to go to Fortunoff and explain what happened and get my four place settings. If I would have just put it up in the attic of my parent's house and came back to get it once we bought a house, I would have mismatched china!

Definitely take the time to check and make sure that it's correct and there are no damages.

HTHS!

wow!

Hey... you gave me an idea...

Maybe I'll buy one place setting... and replace it at home with 'Chinet' - and bring it to the store and say - 'Um.. I don't know how this happened, but I want my Lenox'.

Just kidding...

good thing you checked!!!

LOL, this is exactly why I need to go back today and explained what happened, I don't want them thinking I did it on purpose! But actually the incorrect place setting I think is the same price as mine.

No, what's sad is that b/c of the high crime rate, people are now percieved to be guilty until proven innocent... My FH and I received a gift for our last baby and it still had the security tag on it. He went to the store to have it removed and they actually asked him if he had stolen it! He said 'No, I wouldn't risk going to jail for a $10 item!'

sorry, just my vent... lol

Seriously...

I would suggest calling the store first and speaking to a manager. BE UPSET ABOUT THIS SITUATION so THEY'RE ON THE DEFENSIVE. this is a MAJOR inconvenience to YOU that they didn't check the contents before they sold it. They obviously didn't check for chips when they sold it to your guest, or they would have noticed it!

I've had two instances where stores left a security tag on my outfit and I had to go back. ONCE I WORE IT TO WORK NOT KNOWING! I had to go during my lunch break to have them remove it, and I got in a friggin' car accident in the Broadway Mall parking lot!!! I was SO PISSED!

The second time, I had to go back to Macy's to have them remove a security tag from a blazer, and I offered to show the receipt to prove I paid for it, and the woman was SO apologetic that I had to come back, she didn't even want to see the receipt. lol.

I would definitely call and speak to a manager and let them know how disappointed you are in this situation.
