consult with you boss in regards to how many you're taking off for you HM??

I already booked my HM for 11 days.. and I planned on being out of the office a total of 12 business days. now all I have to do is tell him ...

I'm sure it shouldn't be a problem..as his daughter recently got married and went to Hawaii and stayed there for 14 days.. but then again his daughter doesn't work for him.

So will you tell your boss before or after you book your HM?

i say book it...i did it that way. you can always say that someone booked it as a gift and you had no say in the time if it becomes an issue.

We told afterwards....we were gone (to NY for wedding and then HM) for a total of 19 days which included 12 work days. Not a problem for DH (I wasn't working at the time)

ETA: the bigger thing was making sure he didn't have any band gigs so we blocked off a huge chuck of time in July before we even booked our HM just in case since they book a lot of gigs, usually up to a year in advance!!!!

I didn't think it would be a problem but, I asked first. I need 12 days off before/after the wedding.


ETA: I'd let your boss know soon though since it's booked already and it's 8 1/2 months in advance since you are taking so many days off.
